Clamping exerts pressure in all directions against the cavernosa and spongiosum. If the ligs are stretched before clamping, there is more chance of length gains from clamping. I still believe most length gains will come from lig work, but despite the widely accepted advice to work length until goals are reached, I believe it is best to work length and girth together, as girth work, especially clamping, makes the tunica more pliable and thus easier to stretch longitudinally as well as laterally.
