Discoloration:

I did a search but the word ‘discoloration’ was not specific enough.

Anyway just wanted to ask what causes discoloration, and i dont mean clamping, i mean the actuall medical explination.

Depends. One cause of long-lasting staining seems to be hemosiderin deposits. A search on hemosiderin (I’ve probably written about it the most here) should turn up some good threads.

I think he’s after the physiology behind it.

Not mentioned here to my knowledge is also the possibility of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A Google search on that will produce results.

Thanks hobby, i had a look at hemosiderin and found some interesting texts. I also did a google search on post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and found a few nasty pics lol. anyway thanks for the help.

Gotcha. Try using the words discoloration and cause* in an advanced search.
