Extender 4 best results

Iwanted to know if I’ve been using the extender the right way and what to do to achieve best results. I know the basic functions of the extender when it comes to spring settings and how to adjust. Is wearing the extender for more then 5-6 hours a day good? And is it better to do manual PE b4 using the extender? Sometimes I’ll take an hour break in between and perform some levels but havnt tried consistently and last I tried I felt my PC muscle really tense up and hurt so I had to take the extender off 4 the day. Any advice would help, thanks
