Hanging gains without ADS/traction wrap?
Has anyone gained from hanging without using ADS/traction wrap?
The forum member Monty wrote this in a post:
“Now the trick to preventing the body from toughening the tissues during time off is to utilize an ADS ALL the TIME. And I mean ALL the time. It’s important to keep things stretched out so that healing doesn’t take place in the relaxed state. All that will accomplish is a very difficult condition to overcome and in many cases it can’t be overcome at all, which means what small amount of gains you’ve accomplished will be all you get.”
If what he says is true, I worry it will be too late for me since I have not used one up until now. Though the theories here are not scientifically founded and to get data to support this particular theory would be very difficult which is why I am skeptical.
I don’t understand how healing in a relaxed state would cause a ‘condition’ as he puts it, in which your tissues become too tough to deform, but if it heals in a lengthened state that prevents it.
At any rate, hearing testimony from someone who has gained by hanging without the use of an ADS or traction wrap after each session, would in my opinion debunk this theory and give me peace of mind.
Mind you I am not against the use of ADS or traction wrap though there is no significant data to support its benefits, I would do it just in case.
Thanks.
