Hooray for the moderators!

Potential mods are nominated by current mods and then we, the current mods, vote. Occasionally we will make someone a mod without voting so the bastard doesn’t get a chance to come to his senses and run. ;)

They meet at a college dorm and each perform clamping, hanging, pumping, extending, bathmating all at the same time while being hung upside down.

Wanted to also recognize ThunderSS and the moderators and say thank you.

Mods are selected very carefully, by first printing all the names of members with more than 100 posts, out onto a huge ballot sheet, then we (the current mods) gather at a secret location that is conviniently outside of space and time such that mods from around the world can gather there at a moment notice, and each carefully inspect the ballot, and decide who has been naughty and who has been nice, and then, once decided, a jolly great big slay is hauled from retirement and a great big jolly fat man is randomly chosen from the populace, and that man becomes Santa, and Santa lovingly attaches his reindeer who then carry him off to deliver presents to all the children who have been good in the world.

And that my friends, is the true story of Christmas.

Mods who have been around a while have practical knowledge of the qualities that will make a good mod. And nearly all of the time, with a little practice, we are bang on right. So mostly we nominate the same people and a consensus is reached by vote.

Thunder likes to make us think and work a little harder, so he then lets us throw in a wildcard or two, to fill ‘gaps’ in the mod profile. Usually they don’t make it. Sometimes they do. And turn out to be good mods. ;)

I thought Mod selection was like the Thunderdome? Two men in, one man out.

It use to be that the potential mod was knocked senseless and woke up in headquarters. We don’t do that much anymore.

If we just started with senseless, it would save us a step.
