How Do You Maintain Early Gains?

I started PE on 11Dec 2008 and my starting measurements were roughly 7.2” bpel x 6” meg and a couple days ago I measured myself at 7.6” x 6.125” meg after a particular good workout.

My question to the vets is,how do you get those kind of early gains to stick?

It seems a lot of guys have a great workout here and there and at the end experience a slightly bigger unit than normal but is there a way to have that size increase permanently? As in the next day and the next week,next month also? I know longterm (years and months) those gains will eventually become permanent but it just seems so unfair to think that those early gains you experience after good workouts are very temporary.

Obviously science comes into play here and just like when you finish in the gym,you look pumped & great but that pump is temporary.With time and effort that look you experience at the end becomes permanent.

I know I’ve slightly answered my own question but can I ask,how soon do you find those early gains to be permanent? I’ve supposedly gained 0.3” in almost 7 weeks and 0.125” in girth in the same space of time but it’s also possible that when I measure next week,despite a solid routine those gains could be gone :(

So what’s the do’s and dont’s of keeping your progress on track?


Starting stats:- Dec11th2008 7.2"bpelx6" meg.Mar23rd09 8.375"bpel x 6.125"meg. Mar10 8.4" bpelx6.125" meg.

Goal: 8"nbpel x 7" A one eyed monster by any standard :)

First point, you should’nt take measurement after a workout; is better to measure after some days off.

As a thumb rule, one should PE for about two weeks after the first best measurement; this should ‘cement’ gains. The real meaning of the word ‘cemented’ is somewhat debatable, given that nothing in the human body is really permanent; let’s say that it means that your gains will stay there even if you don’t PE for months.

Marinera is right. In my opinion don’t worry about losing you’re newbie gains, if you do you’re routine correct and consistent you won’t lose any gains. As for the cementing you’re gains, that is done after you’re reached you’re goal or don’t have time for advance routines but don’t want to lose any thing. The best thing for that I just to do the normal newbie routine, it should be enough to keep yore size. That’s what I know, it’s work for me and the other guys :D
