How to Jelq Specifically?

I have always done relatively fast jelqs (I used to do 1000 1-2 seconds) but I’m not getting any gains anymore so should I start doing slower jelqs? And if so, 1. How many jelqs should I do? 2. Should I time each jelq with my phone or just guess how long 5 seconds is? 3. Should I count how many jelqs I do or just have a time limit?

I believe longer jelqs are better actually.

Slowing down the jelq increases the time under tension per jelq, and allows you to focus more, as well as reduce risk of injury (the body does not respond well to step changes)

Adjust your jelq pace by feeling and set the time on the clock. This way you will be focusing entirely on the jelq and on erection control.

Even on larger length the jelq stroke should last a minimum of 3 seconds.

I cannot say how long is best, but I can suggest counting in cadence. For instance, I do 5s jelqs by counting like this:

One 2 3 4 5
Two 2 3 4 5
Three 2 3 4 5
…

And so on. It helps time the jelq and prevents rushing.

I am a drummer, too, and a gym rat. Cadence is habit.

I am also a fan of time limits, not count. Again, it prevents rushing. If I slate out 200 jqs, I may hustle to finish. But if I carve out 15mins firm, I can focus more on technique. I still count cadence though, but do not keep count of reps.
