I assume there are already threads on this but forgive me I am lazy. I P.Eed for about a year (using an extender for an hour post-workout) and gained half an inch, putting me at 6.5. I got tired of doing the same old manual workouts and on top of that a breakup with my girlfriend ruined my motivation to the point that it has been 4 months since I P.Eed. I now want to start hanging as a way to remotivate me since its new, and see some faster gains to reach 7 so I can finally say I am big.

Money is not an issue for me, what is the best hanger to purchase, I found the X4 labs extender very difficult to put on and keep on without slipping off so please recommend one that is more user friendly, I am bad with my hands and common sense.

Also how does the newbie hanger workout work, what should I start off doing? I understand this will be easier to find in the forums so if you don’t want to answer i can find it on my own.

If you’re too lazy to start reading and absorbing everything you can about hanging, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Don’t be lazy. READ. READ. READ. People won’t come to this thread to regurgitate information for the umpteenth time that is easily found on this site (Hanging forum!), or Bib/bigger’s site (Google it!).

Hanging is a HUGE time commitment, and if you’re lazy about researching it your chances of success are almost zero. I apologize if I come off as a dick, but “hanging” and “lazy” just do not go together.

After 1 month of hanging 5-6lbs BTC: 1/4" gain in BPEL and BPFSL!

Well I have no problem putting in the time for the excersise, could somone at least inform me on what hanger is best in their opinion?

The Bib is probably the most popular (although I haven’t tried it) … and the associated forum is an excelent “Hanger-focused” resource.

Personally, I made myself a Captn’s Wench (search on it) and it has been very easy and effective to use.

Given that you don’t want to make anything yourself … go to the hangers forum, and bib’s forum … read for a week or so and then if you are not inspired otherwise … buy yourself a bib and let her rip (as it were)

The converntional wisdom is that you need to hang for about 10 hours a week to see substantial gains. THere are many that hang less (like me) but the suggestion is that you need to work up to 4 or 5 20 minute sets a day.

Many (possibly most) hangers als say that you shoudn’t take rest days (once you have gotten youself broken in). Obviously, you will need to work up to that.

The key though is not to jump into this too quickly … it is most definitely not a sprint

All the feedback seems to point to the Bib Starter. Even the inventor of the Capn’s Wench says that the Bib is the superior device. I got the Bib starter and love it. The reason? It is so easy to adjust if you feel a sharp pain. Therefore, you can find that sweet spot of good tension pretty easily. And I treat it carefully because it wasn’t cheap, but it is a sturdy piece of equipment. Watch StillWantMore video of hanging, see his massive flaccid, read about how he wasn’t always that big, and see how easy the Bib is to use. Bada bam bada bing, you will be convinced.

Of course, you should read all you can about hanging. Sorry to hear about your breakup, I understand how your funk could lead you to neglect exercises, but most vets seem to recommend maxing out your manual exercises and going into hanging with a well conditioned unit. My gains had slowed to a crawl length wise, and I want to achieve crazy length before thickening my unit anymore( because a lot of vets recommend this), but I am certainly conditioned and was devoted to manual exercise and research.

Overall, go into hanging not as a shortcut or jump start, but as the natural evolution of your PE marathon. This is the greatest treasure a man can have, the knowledge things can be improved with hard work. An eye popping huge flaccid and giant meat-stick to stretch orifices is absolutely rare and coveted. Since it is the greatest treasure in life, there will be no shortcuts, only the scientific application of mind-blowing focus. Good luck and good gains! By the way, our stats are similar.

I’m currently using the Captain’s Wench, but will be upgrading to a Bib Starter very soon. Everything Printman said is absolutely correct. I’d recommend constructing a “wench” to start out with just to get your feet wet with hanging. It’s cheaper and extremely simple to build.

Check out Bib’s site as well. The majority of the information you’ll find there will apply regardless of which hanger you’re using.

Time is probably the biggest factor in hanging, but you must also be very diligent in your technique, and good record keeping is needed as well. Logging all of your sessions is extremely valuable. I use Evernote to keep my logs.

I have the same issue, But I read a lot, But until now I couldn’t find or understand what equipment’s I really need, Seriously When I check hanger 101, I don’t really understand much from the equipment’s can any one Clear it a bit for me about the hanging device, How to find one where to look exactly, Here in this country There is no wallmart, And difficult to explain things or find it here, So can any one make it more simple for me so I can start looking for a specific thing.

What to choose is completely your choice and is dependent upon your budget, availability of parts, etc. The “Hanging 101” thread specifies some popular hangers toward the bottom of “Part 1”. Look it over again and decide what you want. You’ll be able to run a forum search here for specifics on how to build the do-it-yourself hangers like the Captains Wench. Most of the parts can be ordered online with no problems.

If you can’t easily find the parts to build your own hanger, then you’ll have to order one. As mentioned, the Bib hangers are generally regarded as the cream of the crop. Google “bib hanger” to go to his website and learn/read some more if you’re interested.

I hung with first a swimcap and then a BIB. The swimcap was a pain but super cheep and let me try out hanging while I saved up $ for a BIB. It started to work just as I reached the top weight that a swimcap hanger works for. Nearly all of my 1" gains came from many hours in a BIB.
