Injury

Injury

After my 6th session of the newbie routine I noticed what appeared to be an engorged vein just under the head in the retro coronal venous plexus. I also felt a little intermittent soreness, more like rawness. This occurred Saturday night. I went to my doctors this week and he said it wasn’t thrombophlebitis because it was palpable and blanched under pressure. Has anyone else experienced this?

Slow down on the intensity of your routine. You’ll be just fine.

I will. My concern is the vein looks like a vericose vein. Will this eventually return to normal? I plan on taking a while off to let things heal

Yes.

Thank you for the response as well as the positive outlook. I had read through page after page, post after post trying to find someone who had a similar injury. All I could find that even resembled mine were superficial thrombosis and the there wasn’t much worry involving those. I was concerned that this was something would stay. Once again, thank you for easing my mind.

Saw a urologist today and the varicose vein is permanent.

So?

Not sure I understand your reply.

It’s a vein so what’s the issue? It doesn’t hurt and when we do PE exercises veins do become more prominent. If it goes away after a week or two then it goes away . If not it’s not going to hurt you. I don’t understand the reason for your concern about this.

I guess my reply didn’t go through. So I apologize in advance if this is a double post. There is mild pain associated with it. There is also pain 45° to the right of it, but there’s no visible injury there. I guess what I find concerning is there are 100’s of threads on thrombosed veins, which is not my case. So I feel a little in the dark at the moment about how to handle this. Neither the GP nor Urologist heard of jelqing so they had no answers. So I guess that’s why I’ve posted here.

Well then leave it alone for a few weeks and allow for healing. I really doubt you severely injured yourself after 6 sessions. It does mean you have to be a bit more gentle.

That’s where I believe I got myself into trouble, gentleness. I honestly thought I was being gentle. I read up on jelqing for a few years before I even attempted it. I was making sure I wasn’t overdoing it, well, rep and time wise. I even kept track of time. It was my grip. What I thought was light to moderate apparently wasn’t. I guess I became complacent because years of sex and masturbation, sometimes rough, gave me a false sense of security. The amount of pressure in my grip was certainly less than when I masturbate and I thought I was safe.
