Just Reached 500 Hours

Hi all.
I’m new here and relatively new to PE. I need some advice since I feel I reached a point where I can not proceed further, after 500 hours using an extender.

13 weeks ago I purchased the male edge extender. It is light and compact and discreet under gym pants. I am currently using it for around 6 hours per day, 1 hr each time, with some breaks in between. I do reverse kegels for a few minutes while on the extender and normal kegels when I am not on the extender.

I do the Newbie routine daily in the shower. I only have time in the shower for 5-8 minutes to do this, morning 5-8 min and evening 5-8 min. Any longer in the shower and questions will be asked as to why I am taking so long and why I am wasting water.

I cannot do any jelqs since I find this difficult and also since it is time consuming. I don’t have the privacy or time for this.

I have always had an issue with flaccid turtling, but now see an improvement after doing PE for 13 weeks.

On the male edge extender, I have been increasing tension by going up a notch a few times over the past 13 weeks. I reached a point where I have been on this particular level for 40 days now. I feel it’s time to go up a notch but it’s difficult to stretch to that level since I get slippage.

The problem with the male edge is that each level up notch is almost 1cm, while other extenders offer much smaller increments. The current tension I get at my current level is 1200g, that is the mid way tension.

Should I stay at this level longer or increase the level, bearing in mind that it gets painful for me at the next level.

The extender length currently is 16cm. My FSL is 12.5cm and my BPFSL is 15cm. I do feel like I have some erect gains. I need to measure to check.

Any feedback, comments or recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Since - as you say - the next level is painful, you should not go to that level if you ask me. Stay at 1200 grams as long as it feels good, and you have gains. Some statistic that someone laid out with a diagram some time ago, showed that the biggest gains for most people, was at 1200 grams. It was in a thread called « how much tension should you be using ?». It was a diagram from Jes extender. This is a marathon, not a sprint, this will take time and effort, but the gains will come to those who stay consistent. Good luck.

Thanks, I will stay at this level for a while longer.

Is 40 days not too long to stay at one level?

I don’t want to stagnate.

Those with experience with extenders, what was the longest duration you have been at a particular extension level, before you felt it comfortable to move to the next level?

When I started out, I think I were at 600 grams for a month - and increasing minutes and sets. Then I were at 900 grams for a month, doing the same minutes and sets scale, starting easy and increasing in the same rate as with lesser traction. Then at 1200 grams I kept increasing minutes and sets in the same fashion for a month or two, I were at 1500 grams, the maximum for my extender, and have since, alternated between 1500 and 1200, depending on how my dick felt that day. Why I was using 1500, when the statistic - as referred to in my previous post - showed that 1200 were better for gains, I don’t have a good answer to, other than that I’ve been extending for many years prior to that statistic.

One should not go up in tension if that tension is producing gains. Only if some tension is not producing gains then try upping it. Always use minimum amount of tension that produces gains and milk all gains from that before going up. That is most comfortable and long lasting route.

Excellent advice gents.

Thank you

Hey Danny. I have the same extender as you and for the life of me can not wear it remotely as long as you. I can normally only do 40 minutes at first before needing a break and then after that only 20-30 minutes at a time. I have only been using it for 3 weeks and I put slightly higher tension than you but the edge of my glans gets sore from pulling down towards the strap/wrapping. I have a few questions for you:
1. How do you wrap?
2. Did you also experience difficulties wearing it for 1 hour at a time when you started? How was the first month for you compared to now, in terms of comfort?
3. Are you cut or uncut? (For reference, I am cut)

Sorry, I meant UNCUT* (how do I edit previous posts?)

Lower tension until you feel comfortable to go a full hour, maybe slightly more. After a break of, say, 10 minutes, try another hour. And so on.
Then - up the ante /tension/

I guess some of us are more sensitive than others and some experience more pain in the glans than others. I have read some guys can go 2 hours straight without a break. For me, 70 minutes max then I need a break.
From what I read, it’s not recommended to go for longer than an hour at a time since we need to break and get the blood flowing again.

I started off between 1 and 3 hours total per day for the first week, then gradually increased. I turned the cradle piece around to the shorter position to make the initial period easier and also since my FSL was shorter than 5 inches. It was difficult initially but you do get used to it.

Over the weeks, I moved up a few notches when it was comfortable, got to the end and then switched the cradle to the longer position. This was a very difficult jump for me and took about 3 weeks to get accustomed.. Lots of pain, but got through it.

I wrap using a piece of crepe bandage, about 20cm long. I am uncut, so I pull the skin back, wrap behind the glans once or twice, then wrap on the corona twice and wrap further down the shaft with whatever is left. This seems to be working well for me, with no issues.

I do think me being uncut makes me a bit more sensitive and therefore it is harder for me to wear it for as long as you do, but oh well, what can you do. Just wanted to hear if I was missing something obvious but I wrap just below my glans in a similar way (using both foam padding + gauze, but I do not wrap the shaft) so I guess we’ll see if I adapt over time. I am not really willing to drop down in tension (I’m approx halfway between 1200g and 2000g, sometimes closer to the 1200g than the 2000g mark) as I prefer high tension for a short period time vs low tension for a long period of time. Thanks for your reply and good luck!

Thanks.
I am also just more than the halfway mark. So it’s close to 2000g. I was incorrect previously when I said 1200g.
I put the extender on a small digital scale and pressed down. The tension is more or less what the manufacturer claims.

What is the total length of your extender? Are you extending past your FSL?

Thanks.

I am just having a bit of a motivational issue now. After 500 hours, I expected my length gain to be around 0.5 inches. I only achieved 0.2 inches length gain.

My girth gain was ok at 0.25 inches.

I guess I have to just press on.

Good to know the tension claimed by the manufacturer is not totally bogus, thanks!
I actually have not measured if I stretch past my FSL, all I know is that I stretch past my NBEL. I started on the “second hole” (with the crossbar placed on the rods such that the silicone strap is further “away” from me, I.e. The cradle piece is in the longer position) but now I am on the second to last hole (5th?). I should mention that I always extend with a heating mat wrapped around my member (shielding my testicles as much as I can) and I do think this has helped me progress relatively quickly on the extender, but this may only be flaccid stretched gains, I have yet to measure as I am not even one month in yet. I also do some static manual stretches before wearing the extender and use the heating pat extensively for this portion of my routine also.

I find that, either I wrap relatively tight, which gives a better stretch and the strap a more solid grip but I can only wear it for 20 mins at a time, or I wrap relatively loosely and I slip a little bit into the wrapping, lowering the tension to 1200g instead of 2000g / midway between 1200g and 2000g but then I can wear it for 40 minutes at a time. This trade-off is extremely annoying and I do not really feel my glans condition and that I can wear the extender for progressively longer periods of time before needing a break and I am not willing to lower the tension. I do not really feel any tissue fatigue (although I do turtle a bit after extending) except on the day when I progressed to the current hole I on. I’m considering adding shockloading to help induce tissue fatigue next week, depending on how I measure after one month.
