Measuring Girth correctly

I’m not sure how to do it right. I use a tape measure.
But the thing is, do I make it tight around my unit or just go around it?

How do you measure yours? Tight or superficially?

The thing is that at the base and near the base I have quite the dorsal vein(or something) it’s pretty huge, but I have had
It for as long as I can remember. But it seems that I am skinnier there but the vein makes the superficial measurement bigger.
So, how do you guys measure your girth?

try wrapping a strip of paper around it, then mark where the paper overlaps, then measure that. The paper will follow your contours.

I use a tailor’s tape for girth. I don’t do it tight really, more like snug. I don’t want to squeeze it nor get an inflated measurement. Heck I may not be doing it right either, but it seems to me as long as your consistent with your measuring methods than you’ll be able to properly track progress. Just my two cents though. I’m a newbie myself.

I use a soft tape measure I bought for a couple bucks at a sewing supplies store. The whole thing was all rolled up, and I pulled about the first ten to twelve inches out, and then slapped some tape over the remaining coiled tape. Now when erect, I place the end on top of my penis, wrap the tape around and leave the excess ant the the “coil” hanging. It creates enough pull to get the any slack out of the tape around my penis, but doesn’t pull tight enough to squish the girth. I hadn’t thought about it much. I really taped the unused length into a coil just so I didn’t have to roll the entire tape back up every time it was used. Now it actually provides a good, consistent amount of tension in the tape every time I measure. I’m kind of a freakin’ genius now that I think about it.

Here are pictures of what I was talking about. That tape, although it is day-glo pink, is just a little piece of duct tape, no idea who decided grey was not good enough.

Yep that’s the same tape I use. Hadn’t thought about taping the roll though. That’ll make it insanely easier to deal with. Thanks raybbaby

Yeah, good ideas. I use that tape also raybbaby. But I don’t tie the rest like you, which is actually pretty smart.

The thing is if I measure tightly It’s a smaller size then ”superficially”, as in just put the tape around the skin, touching it but not tightening it up.
But I guess I should just go with one and run along with it.

As long as you know the amount of tension placed on the tape is the same, you should be good to go. You just need to be able to tell that you are in fact getting bigger, not just getting a bigger measurement. The weight of the tape is just enough to pull any slack out of the part I am using to measure. It’s definitely not enough tension to squeeze the girth down thinner. It just eliminates any space between the surface of the penis and the tape.

I should have left the roll and taped it. I bought a similar one and cut the first 12” off and discarded the rest. I folded over the last 1/4” and stapled it.

The numbers are nice and large but there are only tick marks on one side, so sometimes it’s difficult to get the right tension and offset the tape enough so I can see the ticks. Also whenever I concentrate on measuring my dick doesn’t like that. My erection starts to fade, even if I’m really aroused. More kegels!

Great! I have some day-glo pink masking tape. Think I’ll do the same. ;)

Edit: found a green rubber band that exactly matches the shade of my tape, and it was to hand. Another brilliant idea modified!
