Multi Axial Strain And Tissue Stiffening

Multi Axial Strain And Tissue Stiffening

Hello,

I’m wondering about a couple of papers I’ve read that suggest uniaxial strain elongates tissues faster while multiaxial strain causes them to stiffen… this maybe because cells respond to aggressive stress on the extra cellular matrix more aggressively…?

I’m wondering… of everyone who has followed a protocol for at least 3 months… was your routine mostly length, girth, or both and how much did you gain?

I’ve gained about .875 inches in 8/9 months of just stretching with some small pauses in between. There has been virtually 0 girth work or even jelqing since starting up until the last 2 weeks.

I feel like I want to continue stretching as I don’t want to stop something that works BUT I also recognize I really need girth too. I’m wondering if I should jelq then stretch or just do either or. I feel that stretching after jelqing promotes a healthy ECM as it maybe stretches out all the rough pulling and pressing I did while jelqing or clamping. But I also feel like I am significantly more sore doing this and my tissues feel stiffer and less elastic lately which leads me to believe there might be some truth in tissue stiffening from multiaxial loads.

Any data on gains following uniaxial versus multi axial routines would be appreciated. If there is less gains on average from people doing routines working on both axis of stretch it would suggest that maybe the length before girth or girth before length strategies are both right as the concentration of stress in only one direction does not create a stiffening response as quickly as loading stress in all directions.

Hi Rebel!
Multiaxial deformation behaves differently from uniaxial deformation, as it involves the interaction of forces applied across multiple axes simultaneously. A practical example of multiaxial deformation occurs when using a vacuum pump with a cylinder larger in both width and length. In such cases, the penis, subjected to growth stimuli from multiple directions, may not respond in the same way as it would under uniaxial deformation.

In fact, training routines based exclusively on the use of a vacuum pump tend to produce only temporary results. One possible explanation is that multiaxial stress, such as that generated by circular movements, intense clamping, or vacuum pump use, may trigger a more aggressive cellular response. This could lead to tissue stiffening, attributed to collagen accumulation in the extracellular matrix or a "defensive" tissue repair reaction, making it less elastic.

Although these remain theories, I find your question truly fascinating!
