Newbie Questions

I’ve done tons of reading on the forums and have a couple questions that I couldn’t find answers for, so I thought I would post them here.

For background, I just started PE again about 2 weeks ago and am doing 2 on 1 off or 1 on 1 off depending on how everything feels. I’m roughly following the newbie routine, with some slight modifications. I tried PE about 5 years ago, but freaked out and quit after 1-2 months when I wasn’t able to get an erection at one point.

First of all, I want to clarify a couple things about jelqing. Is it normal to have a mild (very mild) ache in your penis after jelqing? I don’t know if this is a sign of a good jelq session or a sign that I am being too rough. Also, is it normal to feel the “full of blood” ache in your penis while performing each jelq? It feels the same as when you wrap something tightly around your finger and trap blood and starts to feel really full and ache a bit. Should I be feeling that on each jelq, or does that mean I’m going too hard?

Second, I’m a bit worried about the baseball bat effect. I notice that the first half of my jelq stroke seems to be much less effective than the last half. In fact, during my jelq session the 2nd half of my penis looks much thicker than the base. I try getting my grip as far back to the pubic bone as I can, but my scrotum seems to get in the way. If I try to go all the way back I feel my fingers running across the veins/tubes that run down to my testicles, and it feels really.strange. But if I start an inch off the base I’m worried the base of my penis will remain smaller than the rest of my penis. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Last, I’m currently more concerned about length than girth. My current stats are roughly 6.25 BPEL and 5.25 EG. My initial goals are to get that to 7” NBPEL and 5.5” EG. From reading forum posts, it seems I should be focusing on stretching since that is where I will likely get the length gains I’m looking for. I’m wondering if stretching is something that can be safely done every day, or even twice a day, while only jelqing every other day or so. Has anyone tried this? Stretching doesn’t seem like something that would require “rest”, and if anything I would think frequent, consistent stretching (within reason) would be beneficial. Any thoughts?

Hey there Random_Task!
I was where you are now about half a year ago. The newbie routine has stretching and jelqs, and those both target length in some way. The rule of thumb is that the lower your EQ when jelqing, the more you focus length. Personally I’d stick to the 2 on 1 off routine for stretching also. Rest is good, and this is a marathon, not a sprint. Besides length work will likely reduce your EQ a bit so you’ll want to keep that up by resting, too. If you’re aching during your jelqs, you’re probably overdoing it. How many are you doing? For how long? What’s your EQ when you jelq? You can go as low as 50 jelqs or so and have it work, especially in tandem with stretches. If you go over your limit you’re only hindering your gains.

I’ve heard about the baseball effect, but not really from anyone who said it occurred to them. You can also focus the base area later with horse squeezes, clamping and hanging. If you’re into that. If it happens, it probably isn’t impossible to work on.

You’re just starting, don’t overdo it at the start like way too many of us! ;) haha.

I’m usually doing 100 or 150 jelqs, again it just depends on how everything feels. When I first started 2 weeks ago I did 50, and now I’ve upped it to 100. I usually take a break around 50 and around 100 and do some firegoat rolls and massage my penis a bit before proceeding. And I take a break if I start getting too erect while doing it.

I’d say my EQ is usually between 40-70% while jelqing. Its hard to keep it at a consistent place. Basically, if my penis starts to get stiff and hard to bend in any way, I take a short break and let it subside a bit before I continue. I’ve tried masturbating beforehand to see if that helps me stay at a lower EQ level, but if anything that made it too low and it was hard to get it to a 40% level. I’m still figuring some of this out.

I’d say it usually takes anywhere from 10-20 minutes to get the jelqs in. It really depends on how many times I have to break to let my erection subside.

Sounds all good, and don’t worry about the erection control, that’s all practice. Maybe the step from 50 to 100 was a little steep, try dialing it back to say.. 70? Personally I’m between 80 and 100 and I’ve been at it for half a year.
