Newbie Questions

Newbie Questions

Hello, my name is Super Mega Newbie and I have a few questions that I would appreciate a lot if you would help me out with.

I started out my ”Newbie routine” 2 days ago and before doing so I did quite a lot of researching about the basics and figuring out whether PE is just a scam or not. I have obviously been convinced that it is not as I am a member on this forum and have began my PE journey with the Newbie routine. Even though I have done some research myself, mostly to convince myself this is legit, I still have some concerns that I would love some help with.

Why have I chose to begin my PE journey?
My reason to wanting a bigger ”unit” is simply because I feel it is a big reason to why my confidence is not as high as I would like it to be, not the only reason but a big part of it. I hear many people say ”you are good as you are” and ”learn to accept yourself and your penis” and that is fucking amazing if you can do that, cudos to everyone accepting themselves as they are and not letting that get in their way. But in my case, I understand that ”it is good enough” and all that but I still want a bigger penis for my own sake and not for anyone else. If there is any chance in making that happen, I will take it and do whatever I have to do in order for it to happen. It is the same principle in why people start fitness (training) in all forms to better themselves and a positive side effect is a improved confidence.

My approach to PE:
First of all, my approach to PE is simple. I see my first 3 months just as conditioning my penis and not injuring myself, if I get any gains during this period of time then fucking awesome and if not, no problem. I rather be injury free and take it slow than the other way around. I also go with the recommended approach from the more experienced guys that ”less is more” as long as you are gaining. I think having such approach will benefit everyone in the length, right?

Questions:

1. WARM UP and WARM DOWN
* Is it enough to either dip your penis in a cup of hot water for 5-10 mins or a hot shower in the penis area for 5-10 minutes? Can I do exactly the same with the cool down as my warm up? Can I mix it with hot and ice cold water?

2. MANUAL STRETCHES
* How hard should I stretch the penis? Currently I stretch it just so I feel it stretching but not anything more, I know of course that you don’t want it to hurt. Does anyone else have trouble with stretching the penis upwards? Because when I do that sometimes the penis sinks back so to speak and I loose my grip. What does that mean? Does it have anything to do with low/high ”LOT”?

3. JELQING
* Should I focus my pressure on the sides of the penis or top and bottom or all around the penis? When I jelq it seems to be easier and automatically more pressure on the sides (I use overhand grip) and as I have understood it that is also safer, but is it effective or should I focus my pressure on all sides possible? I stop 1-2cm before the glans, is that ok?

4. LUBE
I use extra virgin olive oil because I always have it as I also use it for cooking and it is cheap and I have read it is all natural and healthy for the skin. Is that correct? Because I also read some topics about it being a DHT blocker.. False or true? Is it just another non proven myth?

5. How should the penis feel after a work out and for how long?
After I am done with a session (done 2 so far), my penis feels like it has been worked and it hangs heavier for a while, but I don’t feel sore or anything and after a very short time it is like completely normal. Is that good or am I not doing enough work?

6. TIME OR REPS
Do you count by time or by reps? First session I did count reps but I noticed that was not effective for me at all, because I just could not do two things at the same time (yeah I’m that guy LOL). If I count reps, my ”jelqing form” suffers and it becomes quantity over quality. If I do time it allows me to focus on quality reps in doing the proper technique, but it instead results in me doing less jelqs than what the routine says, but perhaps that is good taking it easy? I would guess today when I just timed it (10 min jelqs) I did 100-150 jelqs instead of the recommended 200. Counting time is much easier and comfortable in my opinion. Also by counting the time, it most likely mean I will be doing a little less ea time with focus on quality which is a safer approach?

7. It says in a 6 weeks period of time you should increase the workload from 5 to 10 min stretches and 10 min to 30 min jelqs, which I plan on doing, increasing it every week. After those 6 weeks I just continue 10 min manual stretches and 30 min jelqs til I hit the 3 month mark, correct? Then I keep doing it until I see gains stopping for about 1-2 months, right? If that is the case, I add something, perhaps some advanced stuff?

8. Improving the penis looks
Do anyone of you know how to improve the penis look? Like how to get the skin on the penis to feel and look ”smooth” and nice. ”Man1 Man oil” keeps popping up when I am searching on the subject on the internet, have anyone of you tried it and does it work or is it just BS? Anyone know a good way of keeping your penis in good shape? Why I am asking is because my penis looks rough and I would like it to look better. Maybe it is because I have been masturbating a lot for years without lube, since puberty basically.. I am now 24 yrs old.

Sorry if I am asking stupid questions or being lazy asking them here but if anyone of you got the time to help me out, even if it is just one question of mine, it would mean the world! Thanks in advance :-)

Kind regards,
Mac93

Hey Mac93, Here are my thoughts on your questions thinking back when I was a newbie almost 3 years ago - and, as always, no question is a stupid question - if you have it, there are others thinking the same question..

1- I like to make sure I heat up my groin area including the perineum as I feel you get a stretch from not just what is showing. I use a rice sock with one of the ends going below my balls to get to that area. Same idea for warm down, I never used ice.
2- I stretch not as hard as possible, but almost. I did every direction for a 30 count. When doing it straight up, you need to fully relax as to not do a kegel - take your grip, take a deep breath and as you start your stretch, exhale slowly then hold the stretch and try not to move your hand or you will hit the involuntary kegel and it will pull back (which is the LOT).
3-Sides and top are safer than the bottom and more effective. My technique for three years has been a C grip, as I do an overhand grip mainly too. The C covers the sides and the top but I leave a little gap on the bottom so I do not put too much pressure on the urethra - can be a painful lesson, as I’ve heard.
4-Hmmm, never used olive oil, but I’m sure it would work as long as you add more as necessary, don’t want to have too much friction as that is bad for the skin and that is the main idea of any lubricant. I use massage cream as it “melts” and a little goes a long way.
5- If it is bigger and hangs longer for awhile and does not hurt, that is a perfect newbie session result. You may get some edema puffing which is ok too, it will subside in a few hours. I used to get it on my right side and someone told me that I put more pressure on that side and to try and even it out. Near impossible so don’t stress, my dick is growing evenly regardless.
6- I was exactly like you in the beginning with counting! Funny. After time I was able to count, but where you are now, I timed 10 jelqs then multiplied that by how many multiples of ten I wanted to accomplish that session. I set a timer for that time and finished probably within 5 or 10 jelqs. That way I was able to concentrate on the technique and the feel of the blood getting pushed to the head of my dick. Now it’s just automatic.
7- I did the newbie routine for 90 days and then I increased stretches and jelqs but added nothing else until I stopped gaining. My first change I took a week off to do a true measurement, less the pumped up you get from right after to a day after a session. Gains were positive, of course. When I started back I did a few short sessions to get back in, then I added some over the wrist stretches and about 50 jelqs. I got that pumped up feeling again and saw some more gains. I did that for another 90 days, increasing the jelqs by another 50, but sometimes not as time starts to get tricky hiding in the bathroom when family members are home. Also, I started doing the stretch routine twice through and added an infrared light beaming on him throughout the stretch session. If you do that ever, careful not to burn the balls..
8- I don’t recall having a ‘rough’ dick, mine was always smooth, flaccid or hard, and straight as an arrow. Now it’s longer and fatter, and a little darker. I can only guess that PEing will help with the roughness as with every slow stroke you are smoothing and lengthening your tool.

Good luck and let us know how you progress! And remember - to rush is to injure, take the wisdom from this site and you will grow safely, being only 24 you have plenty of years to get to your goals.

Hope this helps.

Be present with your routine, don't just glaze over and make it a chore. Change it up at least quarterly - just like a weight workout you need to keep him guessing.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer all of my questions! I appreciate you. Did you increase your workload the first 6 weeks as they say in the Newbie routine? From 10 min jelqing to 30 min (200 reps to 600) and 5 min manual stretching to 10 min? Then you kept that til the 3rd month and then added even more as you said, is that correct?

What about ”edging”, can I do that combined with the newbie routine? On rest days perhaps? Did you do 2 days ON and 1 day OFF? My dick feel fresh as a daisy but only done 2 sessions and my rest day is tomorrow and I am eager to do a session on my rest day but I guess that is a trap right lol. Rest days are probably as important as the workouts itself to let the lil fella heal am I right!?

Again, thank you very much.

Lottoextrashot answered your questions pretty much exactly as I would have. I’m the same with counting jelqs, I get so high, lose count, get flustered, and quality is out the door. What I’ve read a lot of guys do is just go by time. Three seconds per jelq and do it for say 10 minutes. That should equate to roughly 200 jelqs (a little less if you’re fumbling with EQ levels or switching grips). My take on PE is it’s not to mimic a fitness routine where many will count reps to a T. With the higher amount of reps, a variance of 25 or so jelqs won’t make much of a difference. Go by time and feel.

EVOO is a good lube to use. Many others use various natural oils; coconut oil, EVOO, sweet almond. I like to experiment with different kinds as well. I tried EVOO but it was little too greasy for me and I wasn’t fond of the smell. Coconut oil was ok, but I wasn’t fully satisfied. Sweet almond oil is one of my go to’s for lube for PE and masturbation. It’s slippery but not greasy feeling, very little smell, and last a long time. Now you mentioned getting a nice smooth feel. All of these oils should help you do that, they’re all good for the skin. However, I have recently discovered Jojoba oil. It’s a little more expensive (comes in a smaller bottle), but you don’t have to use very much at all and last a long time. I’ve noticed after jelqing or edging with it, my shaft is as smooth as silk! I’m still new to using it so not sure on the long term effects as of yet. I have a thread about discoloration (be careful with that) that I mention using this oil and will update as I go along.

Stretching - I agree with Lottoextrashot, pull hard enough to feel it but not hurt yourself. With pulling up, you really have to learn to relax your pelvic floor muscles, breathing techniques as suggested help a lot.

Grip for Jelqs - I also do an overhand grip most the time as I feel I grip too hard with a normal grip and can’t get close enough to the base. I tend to do the standard OK grip to get a uniform grip around. Also check out the this thread: POWER JELQ, “Jar Lifter” thread Many of us have been using a canning jar lifter as a “power jelq” device to help keep the jelq pressure uniform. It’s a cheap device and can be pretty beneficial.

I know I didn’t give a ton of insight on your questions, but I’m a newbie also so still learning as well. Good luck on your journey!

I did a gradual ramp up of the amount of jelqs and never reached 600. The most I have ever done in one session is 350 - was a great workout but was weary of injuries. Stretching, on the other hand, I did go up to the 10 minutes. Don’t do anything more in the first 90 days, just not worth the injury risk. When you are done you will be happy you kept to it as you will see a change (the morning wood is incredible right?) and you will be injury free. If you do feel something odd or pain, STOP immediately and get some advice pronto. I did the 2 days on 1 off throughout the newbie routine, most important to rest, you will want to keep going and cut corners, BUT DON’T!! Now I’m 5 on two off, sometimes one day off if I didn’t get a real workload in the entire week. It’s the proverbial journey, don’t rush it as so many people have and you will grow and be healthy and your partners will love it!

Yes, forgot about edging - I didn’t start that until after my initial 5-6 weeks but I don’t see a reason not to do it anytime as long as you don’t do any squeezing.

As Fitguy stated, figure out a lube that works for you. I went through 5 or 6 before I settled on the massage cream. I own a spa so I tried 3 or 4 of the creams before I found the best for me. If it’s oil, go for the thickest, tends to last the longest. I actually like the asstroglides I got a Lovers Lane, but it’s a bit pricey.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah I read the topic about ”Jar Lifter” but I think I will stick with my hands for the time being, but in the future who knows what will happen. I feel I don’t want to mix things into my routine and try so much as I am in the very beginning of my journey. I wanna keep it as simple as possible. Good luck to you as well! :-)
