Actually, you’re not the first person to say they can’t get a good engorgement unless they stay stimulated. If there is one thing PE teaches us, it’s how not all dicks respond the same way to any particular routine.
For me, there is a point of no return, where I will not lose any engorgement after the erection subsides, but this doesn’t happen instantly, it takes a few minutes into the first set. I usually sit in front of porn and keep stimulated for the first 10 minute set, then after that I can multi-task, or even run the vacuum cleaner. My dick is clamped now, as I type this. It’s not erect, that is it is not pointing up, but it’s plump, very plump, probably close to 8” maybe a little more.
When the little woman is home or helping me, as she often does, I spend the last 10 minute set in the clamp fucking her doggy-style. This is the best way to end your clamp session, especially if you’ve been edging in the clamp for the first two sets. I often just come while clamped, but I don’t recommend doing this. It’s not that hard to just reach down and hit the thumb release right before you come. You don’t have to stop, and take the clamp completely off, just release the pressure.
My urologist says it’s not good to come while clamped, that it puts stress on the urethra and the prostate. I like doing it because the pressure makes one shoot a long way, like putting your thumb over a water-hose, and I like finishing her off with the 8” faux girth. I think I’m spoiling her, though. We’ve both grown very fond of this tight fit, that would probably not be as tight if I fucked her without the clamp.

No. I think it is best to clamp and pump after your hang sessions or even on different days. For me it was always hard to get the Bib adjusted right when your dick is swollen, not to mention sore from girth work. Also, it’s hard to get into a vacuum hanger if your dick head is too big to fit into the 2” End Cap. You really need a pretty stiff erection to properly mount those vacuum style hangers, and for us older guys getting rock hard after one’s dick is worn out from heavy girth work makes that a bit difficult.
I still subscribe to the idea that a thick dick is harder to stretch, so one should concentrate on length until they are satisfied, then go after girth. For me girth comes easy, flaccid length comes once a dick it too fat and heavy to turtle, and erect length, although it is claimed to be easy for some, may be very difficult or even impossible for others. I know it is for me.
I don’t hang anymore. I’m pretty happy with the 7X7 I’ve built for myself. I haven’t measured for a while, but I’m probably getting closer to 7-1/2 at the base. I know two women who can no longer take me balls deep; and it is the base girth that hurts them.
I know that I should stop the girth-work also and just retire from the craft completely, but I’m addicted to it. I always clamp at least three ten minute sets a day and usually after an hour of edging in the tube at moderate pressure complete with vibrators and porn. Maybe this is why my engorgement stays plump after the erection goes down. I think ending the pump session with three 10 minute clamp sets is the way to go, especially if you finish the last set inside a woman, letting the ejaculation be your reward.
After that I take my three lead rings out of the freezer, put them on with a water soluble lube, and jump into the pool for the cool down. I honestly believe this hot/cold shock cements girth gains, and heavy girth certainly brings flaccid length gains.
Erect Length? I’m about decided that you must be born with it.
