Do Decon Breaks Work For Advanced PErs

You know in your first year of PE you gain a lot more after a break than without one. But after a few years in my experience, I take a break lose size and I work twice as hard to get it back. So PE vets are breaks legitimate for progressing, have you taken a break and it took forever to gain and make progress.
