General thoughts/questions on clamping....

General thoughts/questions on clamping....

We all know to use the clock on the clamp, especially newer folks.

We are told to watch for discoloration, numbness. tingling, etc.

How many of you have actually had tingling or numbness(not decreased sensitivity from fluid buildup)?

Even on higher pressure sessions, I have never had those things.

I tend to sleep on my side and as such, I wake up at least once a night with dead arm syndrome. I have MAJOR tingling mixed with numbness,
sometime to the point that it make it very difficult to even move.

That said, the dead arm thing seems applicable to clamping - only it is a less intense but more prolonged experience.

I wonder if longer, less intense sessions are the best way to go for clamping.

If you consider the time involved for plastic deformation to occur, it would seem to make sense that lower pressure/longer time would be the most productive path for long term gains.

Thoughts?

06/21/07 NBP = 7.75(tape) FSL = 7.875 EG = 5.00 Volume= 15.42

09/13/07 NBP = 8.375 FSL = 8.75 EG = 5.38 Volume = 19.29 (+25%)

12/26/07 NBP = 8.625 FSL = 8.75 EG = 5.50 Volume = 20.82 (+35%)

Yeah now I try not to go as intense as I was going before. I seem to get more expansion and better results this way with less fluid buildup that will persist for a few hours or so before it’s gone. I’ve also found clamping is all about knowing when you need to loosen the clamp that one click in order to continue getting results. To tight and no blood flow = no more expansion and more fluid buildup. Loosen it one click and things start to get better with less fluid and more expansion

The whole subject of clamping is a tricky one to summarise on, as one penis may react differently to another. At the hieight of my clamping routines, I favoured 4 x 15 minute sets on only moderate pressure and would never go over 20 minutes purely as I wanted as little risk of damage/discoloration as possible.

Overtightening the clamp can, in my experience, make the erect penis tough and sinewy without the throughflow of blood to engorge and plump up, or it can go soft and squidgy with fluid buildup, which ultimately leads to only very temporary gains.

I don’t know anything about ‘plastic deformation’ - which crops up on here from time to time, nor do I choose to. I just know what worked for me and that was solid 10-15 minute sets on moderate pressure, 5 days on, 2 days off. No tingling, no fluid buildup and thankfully, little discoloration.

As I have stated before, clamping is not an exact science and so, like all other PE techniques, will not affect 100% of participants equally, though I’d advise steering clear of the short term, extreme pressure route. Patience and dedication are key to achieving any results.

Agreed. I prefer blood flowing as opposed to cutting it off completely with high intensity short duration sessions. When I refer to fluid build up I am referring to the engorgement that doesn’t stick with you past 3-4 hours or a day. IMHO I consider this fluid buildup/swelling because it is temporary and doesn’t stick. I guess I don’t differentiate between after engorgement of blood or lymph buildup even though my cock doesn’t feel spongy after a session of clamping.

This is much more likely due to a compressed nerve than reduced blood flow.

The point of clamping is to reduce or stop blood outflow while allowing inflow. That’s a fine line that many would find difficult to determine, so they just clamp as tight as they can and let it sit for 10 minutes. Continued stimulation, to allow the arteries to open and blood to flow in, is also an important part of clamping IMO. If you can get the clamp to sort of maintain an erection, one that goes away without stimulation, then are able to get it to return and stay hard while you are stimulated, then that’s probably the right place to be.
