My thoughts on 12 years of PE

So I started PE for real in August of 2001 (I had dabbled 10 years earlier with no real improvement). I had some initial success doing the newbie routine. In fact those were the quickest gains of my life. Pay attention newbies, start w/ the newbie routine. It really is the most productive routine to start.

Since then I have gone in spurts for maybe a year at a time and then taking huge chunks of time off (years).

Here is what I’ve learned.

1. Again, the newbie routine is the best way to start.

2. Girth is really hard to gain…for me at least. Some gain girth quickly. That’s not me.

3. Pumping didn’t work. Again this is just my experience. I’ve tried air and water. Heat and no heat. All I got were temporary gains. While I love the feeling of pumping and will continue to do it periodically, it has not resulted in any permanent gains.

4. While clamping does seem to make my erections stronger in general, I have yet to see any permanent gains.

So on the negative, I’m stuck at a hair over 5.5” in midshaft girth and can’t seem to to go beyond.

On the positive, I have not lost any of any of my hard-fought gains even when I took years off. And I suppose I should take some solace that I have a base girth of a solid 6”. In addition, I must concede that I am statistically quite long and girthy though I would prefer to have more.

So where am I now. I’ve decided to concentrate on the area that I have had “easy” gains: length. To that end I’m hanging 5 pounds as I type w/ a Bib starter. Hanging was the one area that I hadn’t really explored. And I’m again committed to ridding myself of most of my fat pad.

Also on the positive, I’ve learned how to listen to my penis. It sounds goofy, but really is important to avoid injury.

I’ve seen people come and go on this board, but must admit that it’s the best PE board out there.

Oh, and has my wife noticed? Nope. She has noticed the discoloration, but that’s it. Guess that’s the up/or downside of growing slowly.

Edit: another plus is that I’ve been very lucky with injuries. Discoloration is another story.

Start: (Aug 2001): 6 1/2 bpel x 4 7/8 mseg

Current: (6/24/14): 7 3/4 bpel (7 nbp) x 5 5/8 mseg. BEG 6 1/4. BPFSL 8 1/8.

Goals: First: 7 1/2 bpel x 5 1/2 mseg ACHIEVED! Current Goal: 7 nbp x 5 3/4 mseg (almost there!)

So you’re not going for girth any more? If you are, what will you try?

Hmm,that stinks, nothing positive about pumping.

What I’ve been saying for 16 years ;-)

Its always nice to see different types of experience with PE. Some men seem to gain girth more easily, while others gain length more easily. Also nice to see it reconfirmed that permanent gains stick around.

Yea, I keep telling myself that I’m lucky that my gains have stayed. And I am. It’s just frustrating when you read about folks that pack on crazy girth relatively easily. Grass is greener I guess.

I’m not going to concentrate on girth for some time. If hanging gives me some base girth then that would be great.

Interesting thread. I am closing in on 4 years and, thanks to pumping, I gained a bit over 3/4”, most of it during my second 6 months of pumping. I gained perhaps 1/4” over the succeeding three years. Most of my length gains (a little under 1 inch) occured during the second and third year, which I attribute mostly to my extender and the three months I was hanging during year two (about 1/4”). I am still extending (2 - 3 hours a day, 5 days a week) and pumping (20 minutes a day, 5 days a week); however, gains seems to have slowed down.

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

I agree that the newbie routine is the best thing out there, it gave me my early and quick gains as well.

I’m honestly concerned about girth because I seem to be running out of options. I don’t believe in permanent gains from pumping either. Clamping requires watching too much porn which I don’t want to do. Manual exercises like Horse440 are frightening (to me at least). It looks like my last hope is jelqing and orange bends.

I’ve been doing this almost 10 years myself and like you have done pretty much everything. I’m like you in that girth gains seem to be the hardest. I have taken long breaks and not lost anything. I’m back at PE attacking girth one more time and I’m trying pumping along with manual jelqing to see if I can get anything started again. I have noticed I’m already seeing some good response to my new routine because I can really feel it and the ruler doesn’t lie. I think with growing girth it’s important to give it a break once a week to heal some and this is when the gains come in. With hanging you have to stay on it everyday to keep fatigued. As for jelqing over a long time, I believe there’s a point the tissues firm up and that’s why gains stop. The only way to get past this is longer breaks.

I’ve had 2 1/2 years of PE experience and I do agree that newbie routine is the best to start with. For me too, it’s the routine that gave me the most, and fastest results.

But we're never gonna survive, unless we get a little crazy.

SNM, when you say ‘jelqing over a long time’, what do you consider as ‘a long time’? As from approximately when does jelqing become ineffective according to you? How long would you then recommend to take a break?

Everyone is different but as for me after about 6 to 8 months I needed a break for 3-4 weeks. I read about all these guys jelqing for hours at a time, I don’t agree. I think once you have maximum expansion then anymore jelqing is just a waist of time and toughening of the tissues. This is why you see good gains from after a break. I can usually take off a month and it’s enough but it really depends of how much “over training” you have done to relax the tissues. Once gains stop and you see no progress after about a couple months then this is a sign that you need a short break.

Thanks - do you feel de same way about stretching?

Someone said they took 10 months off and it didn’t help their gains! I was like what! Kinda set me back a few paces as I am currently on a break. I think it’ll work for me though, my cock feels meatier now after a week off. Harder erections and what have you.

10 months is a long break and would be like a newbie to start again. You just have to try different approaches and see what works best for you. When working on length I don’t believe you need any breaks because you are trying to keep the ligs stressed.
