PE breaks in your routine

PE breaks in your routine

How often (if at all) do most of you take breaks from PE? I get a lot of PMs asking for help on breaking plateaus, and I think it is necessary for people to be informed on PE breaks.

Personally, I take a 1-2 week break every 2 months or so. Although I can’t prove it was directly responsible for my gains never standing still for too long, I believe it is a very valuable tool in the PE arsenal.

Too many guys are afraid to take breaks because they don’t want to lose their hard earned gains. I can associate with this feeling, but in my experience you get more out of it then you lose. When you put your penis through so much stress, it adapts like any other part of your body. Once it adapts, you must adapt your routine. You eventually get to the point where it is hard to get any gains unless you tie a rope to your dick and play tug-of-war with a bulldozer. By taking a break, whether you feel like you need it or not, this allows your penis some COMPLETE REST, yielding you a penis that is more susceptable to your workouts in the future.

Everytime I took a break, when I came back I started to see signs of “Newbieism”. I would experience red dots again and the good sore from your first workout.

You can take my advice with a grain of salt, or you can heed it religiously. If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you do.

xlm, I’m still pretty much a newbie, but I’ve learned a lot from reading and reading and reading. It didn’t take me too long to start paying attention to the wiser and more experienced PE ers here. That and having to try to explain to my wife a huge bruise on my dick from trying something newbies shouldn’t try. I learned pretty early on that a rest break isn’t counter productive, but very beneficial. Just like going to the gym. I usually PE 5 days, then take two off. That’s just the way my schedule works. And, thanks to the best mentor in the business, I’m getting bigger without any further injuries. Thanks to all the vets for helping train us newbies.

Wise words XL

If I look at the gains of XLmagnum (1,15” girth and 1,9” length in less then a year!), I think it isn’t wise to take his advice with a grain of salt. I am very curious for other people who experienced signs of “Newbieism” after a break.

GOAL for December 2007: 8 X Red Bull

GOAL for December 2025: 14 X 10

Sorry, the girth gain had to be 1,25” instead of 1,15”…

Great advice XL!

Of this, I am certain; as evidence of said, I offer:

I already can tell you are beyond your years in knowledge. This is something everyone should do, especially when they start out.

I semi-rest 1-2 days a week, with only mild stretching. Like I said in the above post, an extended period of COMPLETE REST is necessary for good gains. I bet 75% of guys on this website only take breaks because they have to due to injury or no time available.

Avocet is a great guy, and an even better mentor. He’s been through a lot and knows how to pass down his experiences.

xlmagnum, have you always incorporated these breaks since you started PE, or is this a recent thing?

During my 9 months of PE, I have taken one break, one week long.
I have recently pretty much changed my attitude towards the PE exercises. Earlier I chased gains, measured a lot and was often disappointed when I didn’t gain. Now, I don’t measure at all (or very seldom), I enjoy the exercises and the feeling it gives me afterwards. It is basically a much more laid back attitude that perhaps most PEer will get if they only continue long enough?
Therefore, I don’t need the breaks.
When I start to chase gains again, which I probably will, I may try deconditioning breaks but right now I prefer to get the pumped feeling that I get from the daily jelqs.

Offered in the spirit of a concerned brother (anyone can read it and hopefully benefit from it though :) ):

Realize that the daily jelqs, which are not part of gains chasing, will serve to condition your penis. So, when you do decide to chase gains, your penis will be relatively conditioned, compared to the lower conditioning level that it would have been in had you done nothing. When you do decide to chase gains, in order to make any, the first thing you may have to do is take a deconditioning break, which seems like a rather uninspiring way to start “chasing gains”.

Once newbie gains are done, (done: manual methods effort sufficient to achieve the forces required to further drive one’s higher conditioned penis further up the conditioning curve is not possible), I believe that to make the best gains, one needs to become proficient at maximizing the DIFFERENCE in penile tissue condition, between the relatively unconditioned state at end of a deconditioning phase and the relatively conditioned state at the end of a training phase. It is during the training phase, that one drives one’s penis up the conditioning curve, with gains as a by-product (hopefully!).

In my view, one should endeavor to maximize the length of the conditioning curve, which is really to say, you want to maximize the difference in penile tissue condition. As newbies we are given the one opportunity to have our penile conditioning at the lowest level that we will enjoy in our PE careers. The degree to which we gain from this condition varies (for many reasons), but what is certain (to me anyway) is that gains are easiest and greatest under these conditions because we are able to start at such a low conditioning level, with so much potential conditioning “in the tank”, so to speak. For pity sakes, by definition, we are at the height of our PE ignorance, when we make our best gains! PE is rife with cruel irony.

Once newbie (read manual methods) gains are done, the PE practitioner is faced with the choice of going to “advanced” (read hanging) methods or going to decon. The siren’s song of more gains like the newbie gains just gotten is incredibly alluring (I know). For those that go this route, further conditioning and associated gains can be had. The cost is that conditioning. In my view, the requirement for decon comes, one way or the other, its just a matter of when, and, at what level of penile tissue conditioning does one now need to drive one’s penis DOWN the conditioning curve from in order to maximize the difference in the conditioning curve so as to facilitate further gains.

My biggest PE goal now is to drive my penis down the conditioning curve. I’m not sure that there is anything that can be added to the strategy of “doing nothing” to best achieve this, but I’m PDS daily jelgs aint it.

We all, however, have to find our own way. I hope this helps you find yours.

Pretty much. I wasn’t going to incorporate it when I first started, but after reading, reading, reading, I decided to do it after my first two months here.

I thought about breaks too

I made one in april and I think it was quite good. I plan to make one week break in july.

Do you do absolutly nothing when you take a break or do you continue with some light lig stretching or soft jelqing?

Question to all of you but exspecially to xlmagnum: what do you think about working first the length only and then the girth?

Many people in this forum do their workout like that.

How do you think about stretching(mostly down for length) and clamping(for girth) and just do some soft jelqing for warmup?

Started-Oct04: 5.7/4.8; Current 6.7/5.3

Learning even more about PE(nearly every day)

Changing routine, Current: jelqing, clamping, obends, kegel

Well I take short 3-7 day breaks, and I thinkIi gain faster after them.

When I take a deconditioning break, I do nothing. I’ll jerk off once or twice a week, but I want to keep the amount of penis handling to a minimum.

It is best to work length first then girth later.

Clamping is great for girth work, if you’re ready for it. Stretching downwards doesn’t mean you’ll get gains. I go by the LOT theory, and if you need to stretch the tunica, it is best to stretch upwards for length gains.

No matter what workout I’m doing, or what goals I’m trying to achieve with that workout, I always warm up, light stretch, do the bulk of my routine, and stretch at the end.
