PE in the 1970s

Attached is an ad for an ADS from 1973 (isn’t archive.org wonderful).

It’s incredibly similar to this ADS video and you can still buy devices like this.

Pumps were available back then, normally with a bulb style pump and a rubber ring around the bottom to allow them to sell the same size tube to everyone. You can still get those as well.

Wow, that’s great! Online calculator says $9 in 1970s is about $60 today. Seems like a lot for some tape and bands. I wonder where they could legally advertise those things? Playboy and Penthouse, probably not in Saturday Evening Post or TV Guide.

I reckon a thread on PE devices from the past is a great idea.

I remember an ad in Hustler magazine back in the early 90s for a hydro pump long before the Bathmate for example.

Also ads for the Blakoe ring back in the early 80s, be interesting to see them again.

I remember ordering a penis ball type pump in 1970, but couldn’t get it to hold a vacuum.

Interesting that in the 70s you only had to wear an ADS for an hour a day.

When we were young, life moved slower. That one hour counted for four.

Like in dog years.
