At least I am starting not to think so…Let’s discuss this…Someone stated in my "Reverse kegels as excersize" thread that doing reverse kegels are pointless because all you are doing is relaxing the BC muscle and that wont make it any stronger…This got me thinking. If they can only contract, then we definently know that the BC muscle is the muscle contracted when you kegel (stop piss)…When you are not pissing at all and just doing someting else, it is in it’s relaxed state (like right now as you read this screen). When you actually tell your body to piss and expel urine, you MUST be telling it to contract some OTHER muscle…It can’t be the BC if its contraction function is to cut off urine. Unfortunently, I do not know that much about penis physiology so I cannot tell you which muscle performs this function, but I do think that since a muscle can ONLY contract, we cannot be using the same muscle in both a reguler kegel and a reverse kegel. The bulbocavernosus (BC) is involved in urination only at the end, when you get that last squirt to clear things out. You have a sphincter muscle, located just below the prostate, that is squeezing the urethra shut in its relaxed state. When you micturate (void, urinate, take a whiz, pee, piss, whatever) you contract the sphincter (open it) and your bladder starts to squeeze out the urine. It doesn’t fall out by gravity.

You can stop the flow of urine by closing (relaxing) the sphincter. If you squeeze a bit harder you also contract the BC muscle and get that last bit of urine cleared from the part of the urethra in your penis. It takes very little effort to stop pissing. The BC does not have to be contracted to stop the flow of urine. Try it.

The purpose of a reverse Kegel is to prevent the BC muscle from fighting against you when you’re doing things like manual stretches. A reverse Kegel is simply NOT contracting your BC even when your body wants to contract it. There seems to be a natural tendency for the BC to want to contract when the penis is pulled on. (Not surprisingly, it’s called the bulbocavernosus reflex and is usually elicited by squeezing or tapping the glans.) This is usually most noticed by newbies. Experienced PEers who have been manhandling (so to speak) their cocks for a while get past this reflex.

So, as I said in the other thread, doing reverse Kegels alone is not doing anything to make your cock bigger or improve your sexual health. Reverse Kegels are done in conjunction with other PE exercises to make it easier for that exercise to do whatever it’s supposed to do. A reverse Kegel alone is pointless.

Man reverse kegles seem to be very weird to me, I cant be sure if they are just me letting go of the normal kegel into a relaxed state or is it just pushing after the relaxed state?

Pushing out, like your forcing the flow when taking a piss. That is a reverse kegel. The muscles seem to be antagonistic, so when the RK muscles are in use the BC muscles are relaxed.

Thanks alot for the info westla…It gave me alot of insight into our urinary systems physiology…But dude, I never thought doing reverse kegels would make my cock bigger…But ever since Merlin released his “reverse kegel-cum but no orgasm” thread, I have been able to not orgasm, but dribble out cum when I want to. But this got me thinking that if I worked out my reverse kegel action enough, I would be able to expel the cum at a force that would literally make it stream instead of just drip out. Like a good 2-3 second straight stream of cum. Understand what I’m saying? Or is that not plausible at all from your knowledge? Thanks man..

No, it does make sense. I think whether you can “stream” or not depends on the rest of your plumbing and how close to orgasm you get before relaxing the BC in a reverse Kegel. If the BC is relaxed then the only thing pushing semen out is the contractions of muscles surrounding the penis or pelvic organs. It’s probably difficult for most men to prevent all contractions of the BC, but preventing the rhythmic contractions of ejaculation would be enough to allow the semen to flow rather than spurt.
