I have been wondering about something lately and would like to see if there are any opinions out there.
I do not profess to have seen a wide range of male porn stars but for whatever reason(s) I have taken a strong interest in Mandingo and Lexington Steele. I realize that they are genetically gifted with huge penises but one thing that I find coincidental is that they both have very straight shafts. In most pictures of average erections the shaft curves up. Peter North is also very long and very straight…FAWG (for a white guy) (j/k).

My theory is that in the case of an average sized cock, the dorsal thickening of the tunica has restricted the length potential starting at a young age.

Just imagine if someday “the family surgeon” performs a “procedure” to reduce the amount of dorsal thickening so that men develop larger penises. Not hard to imagine since circumcision is not a “required” surgery.

Straight dicks look longer IMHO. That could just be perspective, but I mean when you have two identical dicks next to each other, one straight and one with a significant curvature, the straight one is going to extend out further away from the body even though if you follow the path of the dick, the distance is the same for both from base to tip.

Some people consider straightening even a severe curve to be cheating of the highest order in terms of measuring, so I guess they would consider straight cocks “the winner” in that situation as an overall average, regardless of whether that logic is borne of mental retardation or a noticable neurosis or whatever have you.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your pre PE length?
I agree that straight dicks just look longer but it seems that on average they ARE significantly longer i.e. (average straight vs. average up-curved). I don’t know..maybe porn producers screen out the really huge up-curved guys. Can someone think of an up-curved porn star in the same league as Mandigo and Lex?
I also think that the down-curved porn-stars were also big men although I do think that unless they are hideously hung they do not make it in porn. I am not a porn afficionado by any means so please excuse me if I sound like I am talking out of my ass (because I might be).

I personally wouldn’t consider “measuring along the curve” as cheating because the vagina and anus conform to the curved length. Maybe a down-curve is primo for standing oral. Up-curve primo for the old and hopefully forgotten 69 position.

If you search for a past survey here, I think you’ll find that upward curves are not the norm, though there are plenty of cocks with upward and leftward curves.

Excellent point. I like my up-curve too however I am trying to determine if my tunica is my limiting factor. If straight cocks are significanlty longer than curved cocks and the curve is derived from the tunica then it seems logical that people with curved penises may want to focus on stretching tunica… especially the dorsal aspect.

Looking at the responses in the poll and the available stats it seems like there is a strong correlation between lack of curve and greater than average length.

That’s a very difficult question that I can’t give a single short answer to. Search for some of my older threads such as my “PE report 2002” which will give a more complete explanation.
I’d have to agree that the only significantly curved cock I’ve seen in porn belongs to Holmes as Para says. Strangely enough mandingo etc are straight as an arrow and point straight out, it adds to the illusion (on top of camera angles etc) that they are really mega huge.
I don’t really believe there is a measureable correlation between curvature and average length though. The idea sounds nice but I don’t think it has been/can be studied thoroughly to come to any solid conclusion. But for sure, there is the visual aspect.

You’re right that if most of the left-curved and right-curved cocks also have an up-curve, then up-curves may be the norm (i.e., most cocks may have an up-curve). I’m doubtful of that, but you could set up a poll probing only up-curve vs. no-up-curve to find an answer.
