Since I’ve began my journey to self improvement after a life altering hospital
Stay this place has been very inspirational. Allowing me to identify with so many people in either similar or worse situations. It’s reassuring to finally discover that I’m not alone:)

Alcoholism almost ended my life, literally. It seems many of us look to substance abuse to mask our issues rather than face them.

A few months shy of a year later I’m mentally and physically better than I’ve been in 20 years. Five days a week in the gym, eating healthy and PE combined has been the best therapy one could ask for. My outlook on life has changed entirely. Amazing what patience and diligence will accomplish.

This place has become a place of refuge in difficult times either for a good laugh or a mental escape. I continue to learn more about the human condition as well as PE.

As I look in the mirror getting out of the shower it’s hard not to smile at a better physic and a nice flaccid hang:) keeps me grinning all day.

May we all continue to gain and improve ourselves as people treating others with respect and compassion. This place has truly changed my life.

That’s a really moving story. We are used to people arriving with multiple different problems but it’s never* that I read something so direct about someone coming out the other end, feeling better within themselves. You do see it in the way people post and how it changes over time. That’s a pretty quick turn around too, from your join date !?!!

Well I lurked or a while before becoming a member;) I’m closing in on a year in September for sobriety but less time for TP. Sorry for the confusion.

It means hope.

After I read through the posts, I saw someone else said the same thing. That’s as simple as we can put it I think, it means hope, hope to change a situation that seems hopeless, a chance to change something that’s universally thought of as impossible to change, an opportunity to seize control.

Sorry, but re-reading (for the n’th time), the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and seemed like a good opportunity for some Vogon poetry.

I discovered Thunder’s Place early in college. There were a lot fewer members back then, and it was easier to learn who the “regulars” were, and keep up with most of the posting. This was an awesome place to learn from my elders, not just about PE, but about so many different topics. And now I’m quickly becoming one of the old farts around here :) It’s been quite a trip… I can’t add much to all the great things that have been written above!

Ha, I’ve read in n+1 times. You won’t feel so strongly about the rhapsody that is Vogon poetry when you’ve read it n+1 times.

This is true even if you separate the two elements of that description.

I stumbled across this thread while searching the corners, nooks and crannies of this website.

Truth.

In a world filled with so much information; how we let so much bullshit come in the picture is beyond me. There are two sides to every story out there. Example:

Drinking distilled water is great for you. On the other hand it can kill you.

I didn’t even have to dig; I brushed the dust off the surface and right there was the reason why you get both stories. Profit. One water filter company trying to beat out the others. So what comes out of it? More bullshit.

Fluoride. Need I say more?

There are thousands of more examples just like this.

Non-profit is a very difficult thing to do now. Thunder’s Place is objective. There is no side to take for some other underlying reason. This place is purely what works (or what doesn’t).

I am going into medical research. I am currently enrolled in college. I don’t care if I become the billionaire who everybody jokes about for inventing the real penis enlargement pill, but I will guarantee you one thing; I am going to contribute to the field of penis enlargement. And I believe the truth about penis enlargement is a good place to start.
