Stumbled on this thread, but it makes a whole lot of sense to me.. Lurked for awhile, and have experimented with many of the available techniques over the past year before realizing that I simply need to start back in (after a good break) with a low level newbie routine, keep a close eye on PIs, and pursue that which produces gains for me specifically.

Kinda hate that so many of the available approaches feel good and can produce that “instant-gratification” enthusiasm (big visible swells), because it makes it exceptionally difficult for a motivated newbie to go slow and steady, and get their initial gains from the newbie formula.

I keep pretty good notes, but may only post the criticals, if I can ever be of assistance then please let me know.

Many thanks go to SparkyX (et al), I think the gains thread you started so long ago has helped keep me from overworking my unit and potentially crashing any newbie gains I might be lucky enough to get.

I would like to bump this thread as it is a very important read in addition to sparkyx’s PIs for growth. I have also noticed a couple of things when I am in the zone and when I’ve made the most gains in the shortest time.

1. After an effective session of pumping my glans gets a red tint. I am black so it is noticeable and distinguishable from an ineffective session.
2. I end every session with 20-40 minutes of edging and may or may not allow myself to cum at the end. Usually I try not to cum as this causes my unit to shrink and lose the expansion gotten from pumping. However, after an effective session release only causes my dick to shrink for a short period of time and within a few minutes it is back to its post-pump fullness.
3. Like jhtownsend this period of max returns from routines coincides with when I was consistently going gym and pushing myself to do more.
4. I extend daily in addition to pumping and have found that my unit doesn’t look thin and stretched out after but almost immediately regains its fullness.
5. Spontaneous vein popping erections also occur throughout the course of the day.

My current routine is 2 on 1 off pumping with squeezes in between sets but if I notice one of my PIs is off I.e reduced flaccid hang I take a break the next day and if my unit hasn’t gotten back to normal I extend the break to another day and do this until I have gotten enough rest. I have found this to be important I keeping a healthy dick.
