I started with a proextender. Initially I would rely on the tension bars on the proextender starting at the first bar and gradually increasing the time in traction and the tension as you get used to the extender. Do it gradually. There are newbie extender routines here you can follow.

I am of the school that you won’t gain erect length if you don’t stretch passed BPEL but it does not matter if I am right or wrong. As you will progress you will find you can gradually stretch more and eventually you will be able to stretch beyond your BEPL. First I noted my flaccid getting bigger and only after 3 months or so did I notice my BEPL increasing.

Get into a routine that includes rest days and possibly rest weeks from time to time but above all give it a break if you find your EQ declining. After a break EQ will come back in spades.
I have increased in BEPL by well over an inch in 10 months though some of that may be a result of better EQ. I started at 5 1/4” but had previously shrunk over the years from a youth BEPL of 6 1/4” I last measured BEPL at 6.7”. I now pump as well as extend and also do jelqs between extender sessions. I am on a 5 day on 2 day off routine with a week off which is scheduled depending on other activities (travel etc).
