I imagine there are other threads here that cover this topic, but I’ve read a lot here and can’t see to find what I’m looking for so…

I read in pegym a guy claiming to have read thousands of reports and coming to the conclusion that anything over 3-4h per day extending and at a low tension (400-600g) is counter productive. He also claims that the best gainers are doing it that way.

Pretty sure the author of that link is known here as Pe-is-an-art. If you searched his posts you’d likely find a similar spiel. Are pieces of the logic accurate? Sure. Any PE activity can be overdone and continuing that activity with a tired dick is indeed counter productive. To throw a hard number like any time over 4 hrs is non productive is bogus, in my view.

I dont agree with it and strongly disagree that “the best gainers are doing it that way”. From what I have read and researched the key is time under tension and there are many extender users here who have gone longer at higher tension levels and have successfully gained.

A key to effective PE is to understand the feedback your penis is giving you and respond to it appropriately. That may mean that 2 hrs extending is all you’re going to get today but it may be 6 hrs tomorrow.


Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

I’ve been consistently strapping in for 6 hours a day without any noticeable ill effects so far. I’m not wedded to that though so if there are any negative signs I’ll reduce accordingly.

As for extending, when I first started using an extender ten years ago I had a lot of trouble attaching the device to my glans. It would not stay put. I tried the standard strap and foam pieces, and even tried the VacExtender cup method for a while (it was a blister machine). I found the best method to use was a noose cord (McMaster-Carr red rubber material) tightly wrapped around my glans. Even so, my limit is my glans gradually losing swell after about 2 hours, and I have never been able to remedy that condition effectively. The noose grabs and is comfortable for the first two hours, but then my mushroom starts giving way around the sides (deflating) and the noose quickly gets into a pinching condition which is way uncomfortable. I can do a reset later in the day, but seldom have time. The issue is mushroom swell, or lack thereof. Around 2016 I devised a unique glans pump (using a re-tasked Vacu-tech balls cylinder and pvc pipe) to maximize my head swell as an aid to longer extending sessions. That really helped, and I still use this one off custom device. I believe the European urological studies on extending show that length gains are more or less proportional to time spent in the rig, but I do not recall any information about what regime as for time and tension works the best. However, the longer you extend the better. I do think you can overdo it but that would be more in terms of pain and injuries as there is no published data on what routine works best.

I should make clear here that I don’t mean strapping in for six hours at a time but six hours cumulative time over the course of the day. A two hour stint is the absolute max I stay locked in even if everything feels fine.

I started with the noose, then made the velcro mod then switched to VacExtender Mod. I had issues of comfort with the first two, but have had zero issue with the VacExtender Mod - no blisters after almost two months of usage and much of that at very high tension. One thing perhaps is that my glans fills up the large end cap - sometimes I have to really force it in there to avoid having one side or the other pinched out. I have had a few times of edema when I didn’t apply the cone or tape the right way, but that always has resolved within 30 minutes.

Thanks for clarifying and participating in the conversation. These days I go 2.5 hours typically per session for the first two, then finish with an hour. Today my first session was 4h - and I could have gone longer - tension was ~66%. It was great.

Guys, quick question: when does the gains from BPFSL will become “visible” on BPEL? I’ve been extending for 6 months now and I’ve gone from 16cm BPFSL to 19cm BPFSL, but my EL is about the same, maybe +.5cm or so.

You have to give it more time, but 0,5 cm(1/4 inch) gain, is a sign of things to come. 3 cm( 1+1/4 inch) increase in the flaccid measurement is also a good sign. You may gain more flaccid, but the erect measurement will eventually ( almost ) catch up. You are on the way, keep it up.

Hey man, thanks for replying.

I think I would like to stay between 19cm to 20cm BPFSL, I don’t wanna go too large and hurt the wife, so what do you recommend to do? Stop extending? Extend up to the same measurement as today (with no extra length added to the extender)? Or extend as I always did trying to adjust a little over my current BPEL?

A fascinating thread. A lot of extender sites bill an extender as “Set it and forget it ” But the instructions say otherwise. I’ll have to do some research and find the scientific studies, but even those seem to be based on men who use the device about 3/4 hours a day. I’ll continue to follow to learn more from more senior members

Mik3: in this thread you didn’t state your BPEL, so it is difficult to answer your question. Sure, you can keep on extending until you have an erect length between 19-20 cm - if that is your target. How large your flaccid is becoming, doesn’t matter anyway, when it comes to sex. I can understand that your wife doesn’t want you too big.

Be aware that the only studies are small scale and manufacturer sponsored. These days any reasonable study would register somewhere like clinicaltrials.gov before starting to help ensure that studies with bad results (for the sponsor) aren’t completely hidden as they have been in the past. Sometimes people will register their trial as it’s ongoing which is a bad sign.

Oh, sorry, you’re right, my BPEL now is 17.5cm, just .5cm more than 6 months ago, when I started with extenders. Long before (2012) I did newbie routines and some pumping for around 6 or 8 month and gained around 1cm from around 16cm to 17cm BPEL and good +1cm girth (since then ~15cm EG).
