Rootsnatty has explained how the notches relate to extender tension. The next issue you will face is to get sufficient tension in your penis when you first strap it in so you can get sufficient spring compression by turning the screws to say get the springs compress to the first notch. Once you get there you have the extender under control.
From what I read here and at PEGym on extenders when I first started most advise a slow but steady increase in time in traction and then gradually increasing the tension. Do a search on extender routines both in Thunders and PEGym.

Yes both jelq and kegel are great tools in your PE armoury. Jelqing is sort of milking your penis like a dairyman milks a cow. Its a way of forcing the blood towards the head of the penis (glans). I find the inverted V technique is great and jelqing is good to do after an extender session. Kegeling is essentially exercising the muscles in the pelvic floor by contraction and release. Apparently the word was borrowed from the exercise women do to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles after birth. I am no expert on jelqing and kegeling. Do as I do and read widely on Thunders and will find a lot about both the benefits and and who to do them etc.

It can be worn every day but I would not recommend that. I suggest a five day on two day off routine is not a bad idea. Also a week off every now and then. When you get into extending like most PE you are likely to find your erection quality (EQ) improve. After a while you are likely to find EQ dropping off. That is sign you need a break. During the break your EQ should come soon come back and then you are ready to start again.
