Cheap ways to get started hanging (United Kingdom)

Just wanted to get your guys thoughts on ways I could get started with this, being in the UK there are some (often large) additional costs to hanger products, and finding the right parts at places like wal-mart isn’t as much of an option. I’d be starting out with low weight.

I assume your government imposes some type of tariff or VAT?

Sometimes when you export vehicles that were damaged/salvaged out of America to some “other place”. You fix the car to get the proper fit and paint match, then remove them again and ship them separate, while reattaching some of the smashed up shit to the car. Hence when they open the container the damaged car which is worth less and the parts arrive separately, knocking considerable duty prices off of it. All you need is a unskilled assembler to put bolts in holes at some corner or backyard garage shop. Would this be any help idea wise to you over there?

It’s more the delivery charge, but there’s the additional problem of packages getting detained over a particular value and inspected/charged “customs” fees, plus 17.5% VAT. I’ll look it up marinera, when I move my mouse over the text it just says “absolutely brilliant!”.

I’m hanging right now with a BIB hanger, got 10.25lbs loaded on and it feels gooooooood.

I would start with something good, why? Because it takes time to learn how to hang properly with your chosen weapon, mine is the BIB hanger. I’m not trying to sell anything here, but whatever you do choose, try to make it one that’s been tried and tested well like a BIB for example, ok no more mentioning BIB lol.

It’s not just because of the getting used to hanger, it’s also that if you hang for lets say a year with a different homemade hanger and see no gains or at most very little, all you would have done is trained your ligaments (if hanging BTC, or SD) to take weight and they will be super tough when you realise you need to spend a little more on a comfortable and proven hanger.

Just an idea, best to start how you mean to go on, and you want to be hanging weights properly, trust me you don’t want to waste time doing this, you should hang a min of 1-2 hours per day to stand a chance of gaining (some say). You don’t want to waste that much time each day do you?

Another popular homemade hanger is the Captain’ Wench (although a bit more laborious to build).

There are people hanging with a muzzle fixed with a clamp, and they are using big weights without much discomfort.

I’d be tempted by the BIB hanger, but $130 is a bit much and there’s zero chance I’m paying anyone $30 for shipping via USPS, even internationally that’s a rip for shipping with no tracking number and a 1+ week shipping time.

Have there been any updates to the thread with the muzzle + clamp? I lost the link and that looked like a great idea.

I use a muzzle hanger, it handles 40lbs+ and it cost me about $20 to make one. Very simple and common materials to make one as well, I can give you more info if you’d like.

Saiyan is using a pipe repair clamp at the moment which is apparently really cheap, I asked him about it. But I forget, I know it’s cheap, they might even be available in the UK, possibly under a different name. Millia post the info here too please! I’m sort of in the same boat as R Dopa.
