Weight plates in various weights for about $1 a pound in the major sporting goods stores. Deep sea fishing weights are available in various weights up to 2 lbs.

Standard red golf weights are approx 1/3 of a pound. If you don’t have one already, buy a cheap food scale and you’ll be amazed at all the things you can use around the house to add incremental weight.
