Girth gains and hanging

Hey hangers…

I’ve been doing a lot of reading on hanging lately and it has really caught my fancy, especially vacuum hanging.

I just have one question though: Seeing as how hanging is a length-focused PE exercise, is it possible to get girth gains from hanging as well? Are girth gains from hanging typical (or likely), or should I not expect them at all?

Many have reported base girth gains from hanging. Even I saw some increase in my base girth when I was hanging. Around a 1/6th of an inch if I recall.

Damn, didn’t make it back fast enough. Just remembered if your looking into vacuum hanging I believe some may have reported an increase in head size due to the vacuum.

I don’t know about you but I could sure go for some of that!

My head size is fine.

I just need the rest of my shaft to catch up to it - at 4.25 MSG, there’s plenty of room for growth.

I’m unsure about midshaft girth, I didn’t notice any differences there.

I found that as I gained length the girth kind of came along for the ride. I didn’t do anything to gain in girth. I’m Air Clamping now and hanging at the same time. Not all at once but you know. Anyway I’m anxious to see if I still gain length with clamping sessions. I expect that I will.

Frankly I wouldn’t worry about girth gains. I think you will be pleasantly surprised a few months from now that your girth is progressing with out even trying.

I’ve actually noticed a 1/8th in. reduction in my midshaft girth since starting hanging. I don’t know if that’s the rubber band effect but it looks likely. I also jelq and clamp for 5-10 minutes but it seems like it isn’t enough to keep my girth stable or increase it.

When measuring EG, do you measure the widest point on the unit?


Start: 6.3 BPEL x 4.5 MSEG & 4.5 BSEG

Now: 7.7 x 4.7 x 5.5 BSEG

Goal: 8 x 6

I gained 1/4” base girth and no length from a hanging routine of 1 hour a day (3 sets x 12 mins) over about a 3 month period.

I gained about .5” in girth in about a 2 yr period of hanging and absolutely no girth work.

I gained .75” form hanging and wearing Monty’s weights, in two months. When i first got the PE weights I thought Monty was being cruel, like HTF could anyone keep them on? Now I have a hard time getting them on, and taking them off is harder. Sometimes they are really wedged on.

Sounds like your close to being ready for the enlarged rings. When the regular Wedge rings need to be drawn through the hole your pretty much there for the larger rings. The big indicator is when you start getting pinching because your skin is pushing to the outside.

How long have been using them now?

Hi Monty,

I’ve been thinking about moving up to the enlarged rings soon. I’m getting the pinched skin, and today I had to really pull to get the rings off. I’ve been using the regular rings for under three months, and am increasing the hanging part of my program lately. I just hit a growth spurt, and my wife is hurting in just about every position we’ve tried in the past two weeks! She understands that I have mixed feelings about her pain.

Hanging and PE weights have worked for me. Thanks!
