Hanging and ads basics.

Getting into hanging and been reading and learning in the hanger’s forum and trying to decide how to precede on hanging. I got side tracked right off the bat by ads as it immediately appealed to me and I wondered if I might prefer doing it first, if folks did take that route. I like taking PE one step at a time. Finally though, I think I’ve decided the ads is best used as a supplementation to hanging, as seems to be the general view on this.

I am keen on trying to make sure I don’t get an injury from PE and haven’t yet. I realise I’m moving into a more advanced and riskier area of PEing and so now I had to decide on which hanger to go with. Without any real experience myself to go on, finally from reading many threads, it looks to me like Captns Wench is the route I want to take for hanging. In time I’ll modify it and make the Wench into the supplemental ads as shown in Pirate’s thread. I’ll probably spend another week reading off and on about hanging techniques, weights, problems, successes, etc before I even begin. Then I’ll take the time to learn how to build Captns Wench from his great thread. Get some practice in with it hanging, and then learn how to modify it into an additional ads. Thanks Captn.

Meanwhile I’ve stopped PE for now. I’ve been doing fowfers and was going to continue them until I started hanging, but I changed my mind yesterday and decided to stop PE altogether before beginning a new stage.

I’ve been using the Captn’s wench for hanging (not as often as I would like), but it was been pretty comfortable.

The Cap’s Wench is good but I would greatly encourage wrapping with Theraband as it does help to make a more rough surface. For some reason I wonder why we just don’t use sandpaper, that way the Mrs. will think you are doing housework.

Although I only use the Wench for hanging and haven’t tried it as and ADS, my suggestion for an ADS would be two words: Golf Weights.

I was pretty much thinking about the same things as you beenthere,

I’m considering hanging but I want to know about what to expect. I do stretching and jelqing right now, and I don’t get dots anymore, the most noticable affect is the coloring right after my jelq session, but that goes away after a hot shower. If I hang will I cause noticable markings on my penis, or can I do it smart without any such affects?

Is there a hanging basics for beginners thread, sometimes I have trouble finding what I’m really looking for when I search, and then I get sidetracked…

I have been hanging for more than a month now and haven’t have any noticable markings or skin problems. I use a soft cotton cloth (tee shirt) as the base wrap and then a theraband wrap (as recommended in the hanging basics threads), without any problems.

I think golf weights are the way to go because I’m convinced that they keep you gaining longer without plateauing because your not forced to increase your heavy hanging weight as quickly as you might without them. The principle to gains is two things weight and time. really heavy weights and a short period of time can lead to injuries, whereas light weights and long duration hanging actually equal the same gain. The big advantage is less weight. I think there really is something to “less is more”. I think it just pays get your gains from as little weight as possible.

I ordered some golf weights from golfsmith.com Should be getting them pretty soon. I’m wondering though, lets say that I’m wearing them, how often do I check for discoloration and stuff. Also how long should I leave them on?

I’ve worn mine for hours at a time. I use 1 or 2 baby socks underneath, with an 8 inch strip of theraband. The theraband goes under the socks, out the end, looped back over the end-most weight, then tucked UNDER one of the weights closer to the base. (This works well with my girth.) If they start to slip, you’ll feel it on the glans. The theraband will keep the first weight off from falling completely away if it does slip off. The theraband looped back to the weights makes the sock bunch up, holding the weights behind the glans.

As you wear them more, you’ll gain confidence. I usually do a “situational awareness check” every hour or so, especially right before I’m headed to a meeting or somewhere where I know that I’m going to be unable to make adjustments.

Mrs RBM has suggest that I make a “safety chain”. Tie a thin piece of string to the last weight on. Put a loop in the other end of the string & put my pants button through it. It won’t keep the weights on, but it’ll eliminate the possibilty of a “roll-away”. ;)

I wear mine daily up to 15 hours. I hold mine on with a self sticking ace bandage. Coach brand I like alot. It takes a while for the stickiness to go away then it doesn’t stick to the skin as much and becomes very comfortable. Johnsons will become too slippery after it’s initial stickiness is gone. Use talcum powder as a lubricant. It lasts along time and the rings wont end up stuck to your shaft skin. I created a nose piece that keeps the wrap from becoming trapped and squeezed making things rather uncomfortable and eventually requires rewraping. If you get your wrap too tight you’ll get swelled glands and purple color. It takes time to get the wrap process just right but when you do it will require little maintenance.
