How do you know when to increase weight?

Right now I am hanging 2.5 pounds for three sets of ten minutes at a time. I become accustomed to heavier weight rather quickly, last I remember. I have become very much used to 2.5 pounds and I wonder if I should increase the weight or continue to hang at this weight to try and gain the most I can from this lower weight.

Also, should I take breaks from hanging or hang daily? I read a thread where somebody mentioned that the fatigue must be “ridden”.

1. 2.5 pounds isn’t much weight at all. Personally, I’d try to increase towards say at least 5-6 pounds rather quickly, but incrementally of course. However, upon reaching say 6-7 pounds, maybe slow down a little and try to stay there.

I don’t think there’s an easy answer to this and we all have different dicks, put bluntly. I know that some of us seem to experience BPFSL retraction when using ‘too high’ weights. Personally, I dropped 2-3 pounds from my top weight since my top weight seemed to cause too much trauma.

2. Hang frequency

Consensus is that daily hanging without breaks is best, but again there are different opinions here also. At 3 x 10 minutes, I don’t think you can afford any breaks and probably you would need to increase your hang time to see any gains.
