I hung hanged for the first time today.

I noticed that I can hang more weight when standing than sitting, so that would correlate with what you are saying about the different positions. Do you think I should just do seated stretches then, or are the standing ones still useful?

The straight down/standing angle is still useful when used as a “filler” angle. BTC (between the cheeks) is regarded as the better angle to stretch your ligs since - as you’ve noticed - it isolates them more completely than hanging straight down. A lot of guys will throw in a set or two of straight down each day just to hit the different tissue set. Something like 3-4 x BTC and maybe 1 or 2 SD.

Started hanging on 3/28/12 after minimal gains on the newbie routine. Still not discouraged! This game is 99.9% mental. Stick with it, gents.

After 1 month of hanging 5-6lbs BTC: 1/4" gain in BPEL and BPFSL!

I see flimflam, I have been experimenting with increasing the weight I use for my seated hanging and did 20 minutes with 9 pounds this morning and two hours later I’m still sore from the pull.

I will do another set this afternoon. I realize that I need to do at least one more set each day, but I literally don’t have that much time free right now and sometimes even the second set is too much time away from business, and I hate like hell to be on the phone with a weight hanging from my dick!

I got another 20 minutes in with 7 1/2 pounds this time, as I was still sore from this morning’s session.

The pulling sensation was perfect, and I have noticed a distinct increase in my flaccid state and more continuous soreness since I began doing the seated stretches.

I was still sore from yesterday’s sessions, in fact so much so that I used only five pounds for 20 minutes while seated.

This was the type of effect that some of the veteran hangers were talking about when saying you have to ride the fatigue, and I’m encouraged to see myself here now experiencing the same thing that have.

I’m still in shock regarding the EQ thing though. I would have thought that stressing my unit like this would have completely killed my EQ, but the opposite has happened.

I’m still sore from using 9 pounds hanging yesterday and so I had to limit myself to 5 pounds again this afternoon for a 20 minute set.

The ligaments are absolutely ringing now!

Well you’ve been hanging for over a month, is it measurement time yet? I’m eagerly waiting to hear some good news from you. If you’re not measuring yet though I understand, I’m still looking forward to it though.

This is also an answer to your question about knowing your max weight. You can just tell what you can and can’t handle without risking injury. Good job on being smart enough not to rush right in and try to hit 7.5 lbs just because you have in the past.

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

The most important thing is to have no injuries …

I have been very aware of the dangers of hanging with too much weight too soon. I think my entire PE career was set back from going to hard too soon with stretching when I first started, and so I also want to ease into hanging and not be too concerned with quick gains at the risk of hardening up and getting nothing after a while.

I managed to sneak in a 20 minute session yesterday seated with 5 pounds after missing saturday due to family commitments and found myself still satisfyingly sore.

Steady as she goes.

I hung standing this morning for the first time in a while and started with 7 1/2 pounds for 5 minutes and went up to 10 pounds to stretch out the ligaments for a further 5 minutes, then sat down with the same 10 to see what would happen and quickly realized that wasn’t going to work.

I went back to 5 pounds for the remaining 10 minutes and felt the familiar dull ache all morning.

Still nice and sore from my routine and so did 20 minutes seated with five pounds this morning.

Stood with 9 pounds for 5 minutes and then sat with 5 pounds for 15 minutes.

Seated session this morning. 20 minutes with 5 pounds. Suitable sore, but I feel that I will have to do some heavier standing weight this afternoon.

I upped my seated weight to 6 1/2 pounds and found it pulled significantly more, but I got through 20 minutes without any dramas, so I will 20 more this afternoon.

How many minutes would you say you are doing per day? You and I seem to be doing about the same amount of hanging. I hang for about 60 to 80 minutes total per day the only down side is that I sometimes miss 2 days out of the week.
