Started over the shoulder hanging to see if I could jump start some gains. I have been at it for a couple of days and I seem to be really putting some stress on the unit and getting some fatigue but let me tell you this over the shoulder shit hurts the shoulders. Hanging down was a pleasure the biggest problem was making sure I took the bib off in 20 minutes now I sit and look at the clock praying that the time is up. Any suggestion on making it more pleasant would be helpful and has anybody been getting some big gains this way.

What problems are you having? Any time you try a new angle, it is not unusual to have to drop weight. Get a weight that is comfortable, and where you do not look at the clock.

If it is the technique, then give more info on what is bothering you. The attachment? Is the rope extension digging in?

If it is the later, then be sure to pad the rope extension on your shoulder. I duct taped a large piece of plastic that I cut out of a milk jug to the cord. This spreads the pressure out nicely. Or you can get a chair with a higher back, and does not allow the rope to touch your shoulder at all.

I’m a low lot guy and just started OTS. Instead of using weights I started using a bag full of change. It really made things more comfortable. OTS is very uncomfortable for long periods of time. Almost impossible to sit and type in front of the computer. The bag o pocket change made the situation a little easier to handle. Good Luck….

I’m the king of change I never use weights, I’m using a sneaker full of change attached to a small bungee cord which I really like because when I flex my back it tugs on my dick.

You really need to hang a pulley on the ceiling to do straight up hanging.

Yeah I would love to do that and might but I don’t want to explain a hook in the ceiling to my kids when they come over

How about putting the rope or chord around the back of your neck? That may spread out the weight instead of concentrating it on your shoulder.

Dino, you might try a shoulder strap from a travel bag. I had one here with nice attachment clips at each end, and a shoulder pad already built on in the right place.

You could try hanging weight over both shoulders so each only has to support half the total.

I use a big bath towel folded over many times for padding. It helps, but I’ll probably try Bib’s milk jug solution next time I do OTS.

I’m OTS hanging and it does hurt more then SO.

I don’t get why. But with my low LOT, I better get used to it.

Sometimes a ceiling hook is used for hanging flower baskets, even inside. Perfectly acceptable and easily adaptable :>

Dino, I haven’t begun tunica work yet so I can’t speak from experience, but I think deasign’s OTS backpack idea looks cool. It’s perfect for containing the weights and the shoulder pads serve as… well, shoulder pads. :) This is the application I’m going to try when I eventually start hanging at higher angles.

Just put a hook in the ceiling, and hang some type of ornament or sports item from it. When its time to hang, take off the item/ornament and you’re ready to hang. When done hanging, put it back up, no one will suspect a thing.
