Plasti-dip safe?

Plasti-dip safe?

I’ve been reading about people using Plasti-dip to make the bottom of their home made tubes seal better. So I went to get some Plasti-dip.

However, after reading the warning label on the Plasti-dip, I’m a bit worried about putting it on anything that would go near me penis at all. It has hexane in it, which according to a wiki-search can damage nerves and the central nervous system (Hexane - Wikipedia). I assume this is only talking about the vapors, and that Plasti-dip should be safe when dry. Is this a safe assumption? I know a few people at Thunder’s have been using homemade pumps and stuff for a while. I’m just wondering if anyone who uses a Plasti-dip coated tube has noticed any sort of skin reaction or anything? Penile cancer? Rotting of flesh? I have a big imagination and things like this scare me easily.

I have used the Rust-OLeum version on all 3 of my tubes, and no adverse reaction … it contains the same ingredients -

The only thing I am concerned about is the “flash fire” reaction if I get over aggressive with the pumping - that could really screw up my day.

The warning is primarily about the vapors - as with any petroleum-based item, follow directions and warnings, use in well ventilated area (unless you like that dizzy feeling) and allow it to cure thoroughly.

You should have no problem.

Ok thanks a lot guys. I’ll watch out for the flash fires ;)

I use plasti-dip on my full-package cylinder and haven’t experienced any problems. I’m assuming if it’s for use on tools that are being handled (I’m talkin’ about screwdrivers and pliers here!) all the time, I’m guessing it’s safe for skin contact.

Hey guys, I put the plasti-dip on my pump a few weeks back, and it worked great. I waited about 3 days to make sure it was all dry before pumping. Everything seemed fine. However, starting about a week ago, I have noticed that some of the plasti-dip is starting to erode and flake/goop off. It seems as if the the lube I am using (cocoa butter) is making the plasti-dip softer and eroding it. The cocoa butter that comes in contact with the plasti-dip sometimes turns a gray color ( my plasti-dip is black).

I am now extremely worried about whether or not this is putting harmful chemicals directly into my dick. I know there are all sorts of bad things in the plasti-dip. Things that “cause cancer in California” and such. The last thing in the damn world that I would need is cancer on my dick at some point in the future. Do you think I need to be worried?

I wouldn’t worry, but I think I would strip off the old plasti-dip, put on some new, and then start using a water based lube.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

OK thanks gprent! I’m thinking that most of the danger with products like this is related to the vapors that come out before drying, correct?

Yes, that is correct. Once they are cured, they are safe.
