The Best/Most affordable Pumps?

After a couple years of PEing from the manual point of view, I am ready to get into pumping. With so many pumps out there can you guys give me an idea of what pumps are the best. Heres what I am looking for…

Something under $100, $125 on the top end.
Something that is comfortable

Which pump is ‘best’? That’s a matter of opinion, and a matter of how you define ‘best’. The ‘big names’ in pumps and cylinders are:

• Boston Pump
• LAPump
• PumpToys
• Vacutech

Dr. Kaplan pumps are fairly well known, and again, a step above the novelty pumps. Some find the tapered shape of the Kaplan cylinders to be a disadvantage.

Bathmate USA pumps are an interesting alternate sort of pump.

Comfort is a subjective issue, although pumping at reasonable vacuum levels is more comfortable than pumping at higher vacuum levels.

It is simpler and easier to buy everything from one source, but if you are willing to complicate things, you can save money by getting the pump component from Harbor Freight. See the thread Lap pump = harbor freight tools pump. You still need to buy a cylinder and male vacuum adapter if you do that.
