Hey man, I would suggest experimenting as much as you can to see what works for you, because everyone is different, especially with frequency and intensity. To be honest, girth isn’t a main goal of mine currently. I understand that length can be gained as well; however, I didn’t gain length when using the Bathmate.
If you want girth gains quick, I would suggest more frequent use at low intensity. Maybe like 10 min twice a day, around 3 inHg (this is very low pressure) for 2 on 1 off. I was seeing gains quickly like this but stopped.
Additionally, here are some things that I’ve learned pumping:
1) Heat is very very important to see greater expansion and increase blood flow.
2) Fluid buildup will not increase EG; the ideal session should end just before fluid build up starts. Fluid indicates the skin being pulled away from penile tissue. You want the skin to stretch the tissue, not pull away from it.
3) Jelqing can be used in between pumping sets to cause an internal pressure outwards. (Jelqing is like pushing whereas pumping is like pulling.) But be cautious when starting out not to overdo it. *Sidenote* Do not ejaculate every time you pump, that could kill your libido and tire you out fast.
4) Regulating pressure in the Bathmate can be difficult. In my old pump, without the handball, I would say I got the pressure up to 15-20 inHg. So don’t use the max pressure of the pump, maybe use like 20% or enough to keep the suction on your body when standing. But experiment and take note of how far you are compressing.
5) Rest/adjust as needed. If your EQ decrease, don’t freak out, the greater the intensity the more rest you need, typically.
6) Beware of compressive clothing and underwear. Wear very loose underwear or go commando. Also, don’t wear pants that restrict blood flow. You want your flaccid to be as fat as possible.
Oh yeah, and relax and enjoy the journey. Mental pressure is a sure way to kill EQ.
