Restart with different stretching technique. Does anyone do this?
So I’ve been at this whole thing for almost 5 years now. Hard to believe.
Got my first 1/2” in half a year, the second 1/2” took about a year and a half longer, my logs aren’t exactly perfect in this time period.
Started out with something similar to the newbie routine, kind of a less is more approach.
Later I dabbled in Uli’s, clamping, hanging, bends…. no pumping/ads/extender though.
For all this time I wasn’t consistant, took several breaks of a few months. For a period I thought I was done with this.
Have not seen real gains in over two years but I’m always coming back.
Anyway, about two to three months ago I started doing it seriously again, with focus on length, haven’t measured yet. At the same time I stopped watching porn cold turkey.
What I do now is a warmup, then doing a stretch for about 40min with a short break in the middle.
I use a self made AFB style hanger with a light tissue paper wrap. I tighten it and then stretch manually. Mostly straight out and straight up.
This allows for an incredible grip that actually holds on to everything inside, not just the skin. Far better than with the hands alone or tissue paper as grip-assist.
Since the grip is far less strenuous like this it allows me to do very long sets with much greater force. Bundled stretches are just a matter of rotating the handle once.
I can pull with one hand and massage/loosen the shaft below with the other or fulcrum the end of the hanger against my stomach or use the thumb of one of the pulling hands as a fulcrum.
What I have measured is BPFSL, which is back to its former max at 20cm. It had shrunk to 18cm, 18.5cm tops during the last decon break (lazyness).
I hope that this and the fact that I have come back to doing a regular warmup again will finally produce gains again so I can reach firegoats fabled 7.5BPEL.
Has anyone of you tried this method? Any ideas, concerns, questions? In comparison to hanging, which I must admit I never really got the hang of (heh), I feel this gives much better flexibility, variety, control, monitoring and bloodflow.
