Chronic injury, inflammation main symptom

Chronic injury, inflammation main symptom

Hi,

This is my first post, otherwise this would be placed in the injury/recovery section of the forum.
Short summary of what happened:

I gained an inch in length and maybe 1/4 inch of girth in 2011. I stopped doing PE after that. I tried to return in 2014 with the help of a professional trainer, after a year long of failure and over training I injured myself. I jelqed at erection levels of around 50% never erect. I have stopped all PE for 6-1/2 months, and seen two urologists since. One said there is nothing serious and another said I had a very minor case of Peyronies disease due to injury. He said it was a 1/10 or 2/10 at most on severity of injury. He recommended a few months ago that I gradually start masturbating to make my penis stronger and if it hurts wait 24 or 48 hours before I use it again. I’m skeptical because it seems like people don’t get great diagnoses when it comes to penis injuries.

I personally can’t distinguish where the Peyronies plaque is. The main symptom I experience is inflammation on one of the sides in the base of my penis. It does not become aggravated when stretched, however sometimes it does when squeezed. Also Light masturbation does not irritate it usually. My EQ is decent I suppose, nothing stellar lately.

I’m trying to figure out when I can return to a beginner routine, or EQ only stamina routine but the inflammation has me concerned. I found “behemoths” extremely detailed post on inflammation reducing supplements which may help.

Any suggestions on when to return? Or how would you guys treat the situation yourself?

Get an infrared device in the 800nm range and use it every other day

and why not some Aspirin or Ibuprofen?

That’s an interesting way tackle the issue. I looked up some prices of infrared light bulbs they are pretty cheap. I’d use aspirin but I don’t want to have to use it daily, it wouldn’t be healthy. Do you think I should wait until the inflammation goes away completely to start jelqing or begin jelqing and treat the inflammation as I go? Any explanation as to why to consider each decision?

What was your injury and the symptoms?

Why infrared? What does that do for inflammation?

Inflammation usually comes from a tendon or muscle. If it is an inflammation, NSAID’s such as ibuprofen and rest (I can’t stress REST enough) work wonders because those drugs work actively against any inflammation. I have no experience on supplements but I wouldn’t recommend them, since ibuprofen or diclofenac is so cheap. Aspririn? No, that is not as good for this particular complaint. And using it for a few weeks or even months won’t harm you at all.

Peyronie’s is basically scar tissue that might be the result of an inflammation, so be careful there. Is it an inflammation? Could very well be - often the only symptom is pain when you apply pressure.

A low-level approach that can’t do any harm is use a medicine like ibuprofen for at least a week (preferably 2) and stop all PE and stop masturbating. Light stretching might actually be good, just only stretch very carefully and only downward of forward (not to the sides). Does it get better? Congratulations! Doesn’t it improve? Keep it up for another week, or seek help if you worry a lot. When using an NSAID always be careful when you have heartburn or other problems with your stomach.

The most important thing with any soft tissue injury, be it a tear, inflammation, or bruise is to GIVE IT REST. Masturbating is out of the question. PE is out of the question. The reason I do think stretches are good is because you don’t want to give scar tissue a chance to form.

It reduces it immediately ( after 5 or 6 minutes)

but the way it works makes it so you wont get any benefits if you use it every day, I don’t understand it thoroughly because it has to do with cells, mitochondria and oxidation of cells which I know little about

I seriously doubt that infrared light can reduce inflammation: if it would, a lot of people with skin inflammations would get it as a standard treatment. They don’t, while there has been a ton of research, so the conclusion would be that it doesn’t work that way.

Infrared does work in warming up tissue, and that lets it relax. As simple as that. A lot of people with lower back pain or tense muscles in the back benefit from infrared. I suppose it would work the same for penile tissue!

I get what I think is light inflammation from time to time. No real pain but a very slight burning sensation. I could go months without it and then experience it for a couple weeks. I don’t feel it in my penis but it seems to radiate around where the leg meets the pubic bone. Will that cause long term issues?

Thank you for all the replies and advice. I’m gonna rest for awhile and set up some LED near infrared light and use it.

Here is an in depth article about near infrared light applied to injuries.

I read that near infrared or infrared light waves can release nitro oxide from cells allowing better flow of blood.

To answer letzgo I’m not entirely sure. Maybe a tiny rupture in the tunica? For months I was as flaccid as a marathon runner running in Antarctica, with cold chills filling my unit.

While hijacking a thread for your own question is normally not very nice, it’s a quick answer: I think it could be a muscle or tendon. Burning sensations usually come from those. Ever had a good workout and were sore afterwards? Next time you have it, see if using your muscles (walking, sitting, squatting, doing kegels) makes the sensation worse. If so. don’t worry about it.

It’s an interesting read, but I can’t decide where science stops and the writers wild imagination begins. Be careful! But then again, it can’t do any harm and the light and heat is very relaxing. Use it for back pain or any other muscle soreness as well to get maximum benefit. My tip on taking an NSAID still stands, it’s dirt cheap and proven very effective.

It does! (http://www.ncbi … pubmed/23003120 , http://www.ncbi .nlm.nih.gov/pm … cles/PMC522143/ , http://www.ncbi … pubmed/16706694 )

You also said in another post in this thread that Ibuprofen would be better than Aspirin for penile inflammation, why is that?
