Desperately Seeking Advice; Soft Glans, Venous Leak or Something Else?

Hello again everyone. The last thread I made on 25th of October, 2020, was also about an injury. It has improved since then and I’ve learned to live with it, especially knowing that it will potentially fully recover (and not to mention that my eyes also played a trick on me as far as how bad the injury was). But now I have a new injury (moderators, please move this to the injury section as I cannot).

WHAT I DID:
I’ve quit PE since then, but in attempt to continue reversing my baseball bat shape/minor upward curve (which were a result of jelqing), I would occasionally squeeze at the base (to create a clamp-like effect) and then bend the shaft (against the curve). Every time I did this I was feeling as though some scar tissue was being pulled and dissolved (it felt therapeutic). And I kept waking up with a straighter penis (which was a bit larger as a result). Sometimes I’d place my palm at the end of the shaft (the glans) for leverage and forcefully bend. Then I noticed (as of 8th of February, 2021) that my glans were 50% softer than they used to be, which resulted in incredible anxiety, sleepless nights, messing up with work and probably 100 hours of research in total, that kept leading me to Soft Glans Syndrome and Venous Leak.

CURRENT STATE:
I can achieve and maintain an erection like normal, my penis looks the same, pre and post-injury, so there’s no “visual” indication of an injury. Blood flow is normal in both the Corpus Cavernosum and Corpus Spongiosum, and the glans visually inflates (just like it used to pre-injury). However, upon touching the glans, it doesn’t have the same pressure it used to pre-injury. Pressing the glans (with my finger) pre-injury was almost like pressing a car tire, but now it’s like pressing a balloon (it’s fully inflated but very soft when pressed).

QUESTIONS:
- Does this sound like Soft Glans Syndrome and/or Venous Leak? Apparently I have one symptom (the soft glans) that leads to these two conditions, but I don’t have the other symptoms. My glans fully inflates, it’s not small (but it’s very soft when pressed), the CC and CS are normal and there are no erection issues (other than the soft glans).

- Maybe my eyes are tricking me, but the glans seems slightly larger than it was pre-injury.. So could it be that I developed extra glans skin (which isn’t able to properly fill up)?

- It seems as though one or two of my shaft veins (those very tiny ones, NOT the large one in the middle) have vanished. Could I have burst something as a result of squeezing? I’ve attached an image, with a red arrow pointing to the veins I’m referring to.

- Whenever I was doing these bends, I would constantly squeeze my PC muscle, to keep the erection going as I bend. Could I have simply stressed my PC muscle as a result (and it just needs time to rest)?

- I should mentioned that since 8th of February, anxiety was forcing me to constantly touch the area (the glans), and constantly test things down there (rather than giving it time to potentially heal). Could this simply need some time to heal?

This has drastically affected my mental health and I would truly appreciate any responses. Thank you so much for your time!

Your CS will not be anything like as as hard as your CC’s. It is not supposed to be. No one’s is. (Physiologically it’s not designed to be). For many guys it is quite soft; there have been lots of posts over the years here about the penis head being soft - the glans is just the end part of the CS. In most guys it only gets hard(er) at the very point of orgasm, and for some it doesn’t get all that firm then.
It’s very common to think you have an injury when you’ve over done a PE exercise and your penis is just tired. Then anxiety kicks in, and you start ‘looking for the injury’ all the time. You convince yourself your glans used to be harder all the time before the ‘injury’, but it probably wasn’t. It will never have been hard like the CCs, and was likely only fairly firm at very high levels of stimulation, the same as everyone else.

If you’d burst any veins etc. you would have had massive bruising.

firegoat,

Thanks for your response, but I’m not sure why you’re bringing that up? I’m aware that the CS and the glans are not as hard as the CC, but that’s not what I’m talking about at all.

I’m not comparing the CS and the glans to the CC. I’m comparing my current glans (post-injury) to my previous glans (pre-injury), and I PROMISE you this is not in my head. I’m physically feeling it.

I know that the CS and the glans are connected, but there is no issue with the CS, it’s only the glans that’s soft, the CS is still nice and hard, but the glans has lost so much of its hardness that I can press it and literally feel the end of my CC. There is no pressure to resist my finger when I press. It was NEVER like this in my life, and it didn’t happen gradually or anything, it happened suddenly on 8th of February.

I think you should go and see a urologist then. The pressure in the CS and glans cannot physiologically be anything other than the same.

firegoat,

You are correct, and that’s what’s so confusing to me. I’m working on renewing my health insurance (haven’t had insurance since the pandemic), so I can see a urologist or possibly a cardiologist. From your experience though, if you had to guess, do you think it’s a Venous Leak? I’ve read that with Venous leaks, both the CS and the glans are deflated. In my case, neither are deflated, except the glans is softer. Both the CC and CS are rock-hard, but it seems like there’s not enough pressure building in the glans. Does this sound like a Venous Leak?

Titleist,

I wouldn’t mind hearing more of your thoughts on this.

Something I’ve never experienced. I tend to agree with Firegoat.

Okay, I may have figured out the issue. So there’s one symptom I forgot to mention. The time I was doing that squeeze/bend (right before the injury), my glans were super inflated and extremely hard (while squeezing) and a while later when I was going to pee, there was blood coming out of the glans. Not alot, maybe just one or two drops, and they seemed to come from the pee hole skin (not from inside the penis). I guess the squeeze was too hard that the pressure on the glans caused the glans/pee hole to stretch and bleed?

So now I’m thinking I may have just burst a few capillaries inside the glans and that’s why it’s not as hard? Capillaries do recover naturally, so if that’s the case, that would be amazing (because it would only need time). But then again, burst capillaries do leave temporary spots, and I don’t seem to have any of these spots (unless they’re hidden deeper under the skin).

What do you guys think?

If you have normal erections then it is not a venous leak. I’d suggest holding off any PE activity, including squeezing, and reducing masturbation as much as you can and visit the urologist as quickly as you can. There is likely nothing we can tell you that will give you confidence in what you may or may not have going on. Only the urologist can do that. The great positive is you are still getting normal erections. This should give you great comfort. Do your best to stop dwelling on it and let the anxiety subside.

Thank you for your response, 32quarters. The anxiety has destroyed me in the past 30 days, but I’m aiming to completely abstain from touching it for a week. I’d be lucky if I can have an appointment a month from now, so I came here for words of reassurance, to keep me sane till my appointment.

Regarding the Venous Leak, I was feeling confident over the fact I can achieve/maintain normal erections, but then I read that you can still have a Venous Leak and have an erection, and that killed my confidence. What are your thoughts on that?

No matter what anyone here tells you, you will still have doubts. Schedule a dr appointment as quickly as you can and try to stop worrying about this.

If you had a couple of drops of blood, you have torn some tissue, even if only at a microscopic level. It’s very unlikely indeed to have caused any significant or long-term damage.Really nothing to worry about. However, any healing, however minor, will cause scar tissue to be formed to draw the healing edges of the tissue together. Again, we are talking at a microscopic level and nothing to worry about.

During that process, pulling of the forming scar tissue on the undamaged tissue it is attached to will send a message via the nervous system which is interpreted as ‘pain’, which your body will try to mitigate by reducing whatever is causing the tension pulling on the scar tissue. You won’t feel the ‘pain’ as it wil be greatly outweighed by the pleasure sensations inherent in having an erection, and the stimulation that caused the erection.

It’s entirely likely that your body is protecting itself by reducing pressure within the glans (and the CS, although you may not notice it much) to avoid the scar tissue being pulled on. Regular erections will cause repeated pulling on the scar tissue; at a very low level, that can actually stimulate the healing response, but at a higher level will slow it.

If I were in your position I would try to avoid excess pulling on the healing tissue - in other words, I wouldn’t worry about normal spontaneous or nocturnal erections, but I’d avoid any enthusiastic masturbation. A week to 10 days should be enough for complete healing to take place, as obviously the penis has high bloodflow with a plentiful supply of oxygen and nutrients. The urethral tissue is mostly dense collagen with less direct bloodflow than the surrounding tissues, but 7-10 days should still be enough.

I don’t think you need to be anxious; I’ve had much worse injuries from years of extreme PE, and they have all healed just fine, with no negative long-term affects. The penis has extraordinary healing ability.

Ok, I take back my previous comment that nothing anyone says will satisfy your concerns. I replace that with “firegoat knows his shit, believe what he says”.

Hey guys, sorry for the slightly late response. I had to catch up with a few things during the weekend (since the level of anxiety I’m going through made me pause alot of my work).

32 quarters, I’m still waiting for my health insurance to renew, finished the paper work but haven’t received a response from the office yet.

firegoat, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to write me this long response. I really appreciate you. I feel a bit reassured reading your response.

UPDATE:
The day I made my last post, I had not touched my penis for 24 hours. A few hours after I made that post, I had a raging erection and the glans was getting really hard, arguably harder than ever before. I had to masturbate as a result, and even after I was done, the glans were still very hard. I felt so relieved that I went out for a 2-hour joy ride (I was barely leaving home since the injury). Few hours pass by, I get a random erection, CC and CS are rock hard, but the glans is soft again. I put together a list of observations and questions, prior to reading your response (firegoat). Came here to post that list, but your response is reassuring, and after reading it, I wasn’t sure about posting my list, but since I’ve put it together, it wouldn’t hurt to post it, so here goes.

OBSERVATIONS/QUESTIONS:
- I spoke to a doctor over the phone, and he abruptly told me a soft glans may be consistent with a Venous Leak, and that some people can have a mild Venous Leak and heal, and some won’t. He was rushing on the phone so I couldn’t ask for details (like how the CS is hard while the glans is soft), as it was just a free consultation. Could this be a mild Venous Leak and has anyone had it and recovered?

- The day that the glans did get hard (12th of March), I had fasted for probably 18 hours (not on purpose, but because my anxiety has killed my appetite), not sure if the hard glans was related to fasting (because fasting improves the body’s regeneration abilities)? It’s almost like I was cured, then back to this nightmare again.

- It seems as though the glans feels hard when semi erect, but once the CC starts filling up, the glans gradually starts softening. This wasn’t the case before, what’s up with that? It’s like the CC is blocking the glans or something? The top of the CC, just below the glans, seems a bit larger than pre-injury as well. Like I said before, I really believe I got rid of some scar tissue when I did that squeeze/bend, blood has been flowing much smoother down there ever since that injury, with the exception of the glans.

- The glans when fully inflated, does seem to be slightly larger than it was pre-injury. Could it have just grown as a result of hard squeezing and now the extra room is unable to receive blood? Doesn’t the body adapt to that extra room?

- When a CC is slightly injured, it’s not as alarming, because it’s made out of tissue and tissue can heal, but when it’s the glans, I can only think of damaged veins (unable to supply the glans with blood), because how can the glans heal itself if there isn’t any tissue in there? What is inside the glans? Is it just skin and blood? Or is there there any tissue in there (that can be injured and healed)? Maybe you can ignore this question, since I wrote it before reading your response (firegoat).

Thank you all for the responses, I’m committed to abstaining from any touching for a week, and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts regarding my questions (if you have any you want to share). It’s definitely helpful (mentally) to read these responses.
