Viagra ingredients

Does anybody know what Viagra is made from. What I am asking is the source material of Viagra like penicillin came from bread mold or something.

I don’t know, but I’m curious about why you’re asking. Plan on making your own?

Don’t want to play junior chemist and make my own but am curious about what natural foodstuff it is derived from.

People swear that watermelon helps with boners, I haven’t seen it. Others claim different variety of nuts help.

Just want to know what Viagra comes from.

I don’t believe there’s any “natural” ingredients in there. Otherwise, word would be out and you’d see it everywhere. There are all sorts of supplements out there that people swear by, but nothing that’s been proven to work. I’ve tried many of them, and have found no difference, other than a possible placebo effect. However, sildenafil/Viagra definitely works…but not as crazy as some people think it does.

No it doesn’t. Many, most actually, meds are entirely synthetic and created in a laboratory.

Real question here: always wondered about the difference between “chemicals” and “natural” ingredients. If everything comes from the earth, isn’t everything essentially natural? What’s the dividing line between the two?

None, just how they are processed.
Take cocaine for instance.
Could you call it natural? We have interpretation problem.

With that line of reasoning, you can claim everything we eat is “organic”. Organic, technically means it has carbon in it, so if you eat a diamond, you’re eating organic. There is no naturally occurring substance that serves as the main active ingredient in sildenafil, that you can take as a replacement.

Sure I see and agree with what you state. Sildenafil comes from a recipe, but knowing ingredients doesn’t mean you’ll be able to produce it.

And I would surely love to know just out of curiosity.

Organic chemicals contain carbon and usually hydrogen. Inorganic chemicals contain neither.
