QL’s No Porn/No Fap Challenge

This challenge is for men who have determined that some level of porn usage is destructive for them (I’m not looking for debate on the topic although here are some thoughts on why & how it is destructive for many, myself included).

Periodically drop by and share how many days without porn/fap and a brief line on how challenging and/or fulfilling your journey is.

You will no doubt fall off the bandwagon which is just par when recovering from any addictive activity, but DO NOT give up - just start over again, and again, and again. May the best man (that’s you) win!

Day 7 - satisfying to face this down after using porn daily for over a year, but really difficult as porn is my goto for stress/anxiety.

Day 1. Just relapsed. Wrote a post on the ED thread of this site. Sigh. Well, I’ve had a history of porn.. Use.. Kinda difficult to describe, my usage is a bit unique in that sense.. Anyway, I want to take this seriously now. I want to pull it off this time.

I’m on day 11, my mind is already telling me to use porn for PE measurements. Classic trigger for me lol.

Hey Headrow, it happens. I just relapsed too and this effort is serious for me as well. Several relapses just seem built into the process but I find the intervals in between get longer & longer when I’m really setting my will to it.

PhoenixNow, that’s great. Hope you stay the leader on this thread but the monkey brain games us in so many ways and I’ve fallen into that trap so many times because man, I gotta get the bestie possible measurements. Hang tough!

Thanks QL, I’m at 2 weeks off now, I did check some facebook profile pics (and closed them shortly after). Brain looking for some dopamine spike..

Almost fell 2 days ago but i managed to stay off with the “i could check but just not today” technique.

Hang in there brothers, this is doable. Lets learn from each time we fall.

That’s great and couldn’t agree more. Seems like one has the clearest insights about acting out right after indulging the itch to act out.

Day 3 - once again glad that I made it this far. Now to make it to 7 days.

Been a good few months free now and nofap and 17 days semen retention and now resetting. Currently on 3 days.

Best thing ever after 20 years of jizzing all over the place mindlessly and mindlessly addicted to porn.

Feels very liberating

Thought I would add to this thread, on Tuesday it will be 1 month semen retention for me.
It has been relatively easy, however it has taken me 6months to get to this point!
.I have not looked at porn since 01st august, so that will be one month now, and to be fair was using it very sparingly!

I have found cold showers/ alot of mad workouts and nofap/ Semen retention YouTube videos have been helpful.

In Terms of benefits..
1. I have mad energy, I have put on lean muscle and many people have commented on my physique, my anxiety depression is very very low, nearly non-existent!
2. I am sleeping much better, possibly due to exercise!
3. I am reading and studying alot, where as before I was doing nothing along these lines
4. I am eating mega healthy and still making gains! I am doing all body weight exercises!
5. I notice women noticing me, and whilst I am not quite ready to make any moves yet I do notice my confidence coming back.
6. I would say I’m moving away from low value/ low vibration pursuits/ things/ people and moving towards high value/ vibration.. Through no conscious choice.. Just happening organically!
7. I am working out 10times more than before and find it easy to get motivated, in fact I don’t have a choice as I NEED to transmute the surplus energy, only thing is I am currently eating 10x less food/ calories than I probably was one year ago.. I guess my body is becoming more efficient at utilising nutrients.

Thats a brief overview, will report back if I have more to add,

A year later. A year wiser. More determined than ever and getting some great encouragement/ideas from the many nofap websites/forums out there. Armed with this, made it to Day 10 just a few days ago (after daily use for yet another year), so while I knew I wouldn’t get too far on my first try in awhile, it’s on!

Day 2 - feels so great to get started and knowing I can go to 10 days without too much trouble.

Ql, I wish you the best. I’m on day 5. This is the first time I’ve tried to quit. I must ask a stupid question: what is “Fap”?

I fell off the wagon, but back on again. Getting stretches of 5 days which still beats the hell out of daily or twice (or thrice) daily.

FAP is simply shorthand for masturbation (coming from some say, the sound that jerking off can make depending on one’s use of lube, natural or otherwise).

I’ve tried going porn free and keeping the FAP, but in my case, was pulling from decades of fantasy & recall during masturbation so it’s all or nothing for me (sexual stuff with my wife being the exception).

Even progress pics or our member’s Avatars on Thunder’s can send me down the rabbit hole so I have TP Avatar’s turned off in Settings and try not to click on things that would get my appetite awakened (he says on sexual organ enhancement forum).
