Does anyone else think 5.5 girth is pretty damn big

I’m 5.5” erect girth (6” base girth <— but this is recent). My ex slept with 14 guys before me (yeah I asked) and she said I was definitely the girthiest she’d ever been with and the first she ever had an orgasm with.

I’d say 5.5” is large. I think most women would be happy with that size.

To be honest, I have always said that routine probably has little to do with gains because there are many paths to success, and they change from person to person. None the less. I go every other day now. I clamp some days, and some other days I will just do 100 slow dry jelqs. That’s it. I usually end up spending 15 minutes or so on maintinence routine for length, and then at 25-30 minutes girth.

I went almost 7 months without any decisive change in girth (at the beginning). I believe the key difference is try actually visualize your penis getting wider while doing the exercises. The thing I use to want to do is just get a full erection and try and get expansion that way, but you have to find a way that work best for you. I did not get shit for expansion if I just got fully erect and began stroking. For me it was letting my semi-erection clamp, and blow up like a balloon, and only after that did I see real gains, but if you try and visualize ways to just make your dick wider (no matter how erect or flaccid it is) the tissue will be force to expand. I know that sounds a little confusing, but hopefully it made sense.

I don’t recall ever seeing anything that definitively established whether the Lifestyles survey girth was taken midshaft or not. There isn’t any reason why it couldn’t have just been the girth taken at the thickest point, wherever that was, is there? If you think about it, the thickest point is really the critical limiter for a condom manufacturer. It wouldn’t do them much good if guys thought the condoms were uncomfortable because they were hard to get over the head (sometimes the thickest point, sometimes not), but fit well at the midpoint.

I actually think it would be a bit odd shape for a penis to have it’s thickest point at midshaft. It seems more likely to me to be either base or head.

That sounds like what I am more familiar with. If you ever do talk about this issue with a few guys in a mature fashion. They acknowledge that 5.25 is thick. It’s not crazy thick, it’s just real good girth. When a girl says ohh he’s got the girth it’s likely he would be around 5.25.

When you start getting into the range of a legitimate 5.5, then it’s like “he’s really thick” or “I was surprised I got it in”

And 5.75-6 plus is “He’s as thick as my wrist”

Just to add I wore a magnum condom when my dick was 4.8 inches mid-shaft, 5.0 upper mid shaft. Yeah the thing was on the baggy side but it NEVER came off, and I never had that fear. With my current size a magnum is a very comfortable fit, and smaller condoms are very likely to break. I think people are bullshittin about girth, they think because they wear a magnum they must be big. I am almost positive 50% plus guys can wear a magnum without it being embarrassingly big, or falling off, and many of these guys think they got big as dick because they fit in one. It’s simply a marketing ploy.

But there’s something which usually tends to go unnoticed: the extra 0.5” between 6 and 6.5 is VERY different from a same 0.5” between 4 and 4.5”.
This can be easily proved reading user’s opinions of dildos and anal plugs.

I think that, once the girth comes close to 6, any further increase ‘makes a difference’.
Till 5.5” girth probably 99% of women is confortable and find it more pleasurable than a thinner penis.
To 6” and more, the girl must be gradually closer to a size queen.

And in the end, there’s also a strong difference among what we (men) want and what them (women) want.
A 7” girth man can complain about the soreness of his wife/gf, making impossible to have sex more than once a day.
In the meanwhile his wife/gf will probably brag with her friends about his girth, thanks to which she has all those great orgasms once a day.

Hopefully my long term goal of .50 in girth will be obtainable. If I see descent length gains, I would be completely happy with 5.5 girth. I had never measured my own girth until a few months ago. I would have guessed it was 4.5, so I never bothered to check until I started the newbie routine. Needless to say I was happy to start with what I have.

I think that is often true when it comes to length, and although no girl will tell you your penis is too this if she likes you, I don’t think they’ve quite on to our girth insecurity. In fact I don’t think a lot of guys cared much about girth until all this material got published saying how important it was.

I agree with this. I started very large at 7x6NBP, and my main goal was just to make the length more proportional to the girth. A 6+” girth makes a dick look far shorter than it is.

I agree, but I don’t think it’s a marketing ploy. Rather, normal-sized condoms have to be sized so that they will fit on the vast majority penises — which includes penises with smaller girths, such as 4.25”. In order not to slip off of guys on the smaller side, condoms have to be sized so they are quite tight even on an average-sized penis.

Alrdybig, I’ve been bulking recently, so my NBP is down to slightly below 8” at present, but the BP is still nearly 8.5” I think. The girth is about 6.2” midshaft, and nearly 7” base. I haven’t done any PE for size increases in a while, but I clamp sometimes for the awesome effect it has on my erections (I love the vascular look), and I occasionally have tried a pumping routine to straighten my curve. I think it was the clamping that made my base girth blow up.

I’m actually inclined to believe the opposite: I love the proud, manly, irrational feeling of having “too much for her to handle,” but I’m pretty damn sure she’d prefer if we could fuck more often, for a longer period (and hence, with more orgasms for her), without making her sore. But I agree that if a woman loves you, she might rationalize whatever you have as “optimal” in some way (even if only for bragging rights to her friends, as you say).

Well, she’s been with one of the guys for a few years, and she has measured him so I believe her when she says he’s a bit bigger than me length wise. She said he was around 8” with an 5.9” girth. The other one was even longer than that, and she said it was uncomfortable in some positions. She has always claimed my length to be ideal, since any bigger would cause pain too often. She did say I was the biggest she has had girth wise though. She also said I was the smallest flaccid :D Which is why it always amazed her how much it can grow.

I think you have a very good point on how bigger girth makes your length look smaller… I’ve never given that much thought since I never thought my girth to be special but that might be one of the reasons I don’t see myself as big AT ALL.

As for comparison, that’s right, it’s nearly impossible. Like I said, I am VERY small flaccid, so anybody who sees me in the shower will assume I am well below average. I also have a friend of mine who is quite big flaccid, but we’ve both fucked the same girl and she commented on how much bigger I was than him. Only real way to compare is through measurements, and I don’t think a lot of friends will give their true measurements easily :D That’s why these forums are so great!

I don’t think big girth will make it impossible to have sex more than once a day. I can have sex several times a day with a girl without any problems (ok, I’m not 7” in girth but still…). The only thing giving problems is length, because when you hit the cervix too hard it will cause soreness after sex which will be described as some kind of internal “bruising” by the girl. For me, this has been the only thing which sometimes prevented me from having sex for a day or two.
