It is probably a lot less than that T3. I figured it out awhile back, but I’ll be damned if I can remember the numbers. I may try to find the info later, playing catchup at the moment.

How much does VISA and MC shave off? Is it a percentage or minimum fee? I mean, how much of a donation goes through to you, is there a preferred minimum fee, so to speak?

Paypal takes a fixed fee and a percentage of every transaction. I don’t remember what they are but can check if anyone is interested. When I went looking for a merchant CC account, Paypal’s fees seemed to be reasonable.

In an idea world we would have a ton of subscribers each donating .25 or so every month. There is no minimum donation, but I think Paypal begins at one dollar.

2.9% plus .30 per transaction. There is also a 2.5% fee for currency conversion.

Paypal is actually promoting the “make payments without opening a Paypal account” now. Which is cool, about time. I imagine they do their best to make that “no join” option as hidden as possible though.

Sorry, that 2.9 and .30 per is for US only. Others are at 3.9% and a small fixed fee in the local currency, per transaction.

Both are about the same as far as rates go petit. I, myself, am more familiar with Paypal.

Well I’ve just donated, finally! (I’ve been intending to for a while now, but just needed every spare penny, being a student, although with the exchange rates the way they are now…)

One strange thing happened though. When I was taken to the paypal site, I thought I had managed to sign in and pay through my account, but then at the end of the transaction it told me I could save the information I had inputted by creating an account. Why didnt it recognise my email address as already having an account? Very odd. Anyway, hopefully Thunder will still receive my moola! :D

I just received a donation from a guy that hasn’t logged in since last May and it appears he had a problem with his registration. So shoot me an email if you are having problems so we can get them fixed.

This doesn’t apply to you guys that have been banned though, I can’t fix that problem, it’s on your end.
