At the end of week one of the newbie routine, on a rest day, here some questions I hope you can help me with..

Measuring
Some guys do this after completing the routine, for obvious reasons but is this the measure to use? Having measured myself I’m not sure what you use here. I suppose it doesn’t matter really as long as you are consistent with yourself.

Warm up/down
What are the benefits of using a Cold “warm”down, if you get my drift.

The Jelq
As I start I pull my foreskin right back as it’s illustrated. When start my foreskins moves forward as I approach the head. So is this indicating too much pressure (I sure it’s not) or not erect enough, or do you just pull the foreskin back each time, or does it not matter where it is?

Kegel
Hey How to you pronounce this? Is this meant to do done with an erection or flaccid or with that in between stage, I find that Kegeling soon takes the erection away.

Measuring: Some guys measure at the end of a session. Some guys measure only on off days. It really doesn’t matter as long as you are consistent.

Warmup/down: Using heat for a warmdown will usually let the penile tissues remain relaxed and extended.

If you have had a very hard session and have created inflammation (which has to recover before adaptation can take place), or if you have created an injury, cold will reduce the inflammation. Because your penis will want to return to normal body temperature after being cooled, it will flush the tissues with fresh, oxygenated, nutrient rich blood. This will also flush out any metabolic by-products which have built up in response to PE’ing.

Heat will also do this. I use heat throughout a session, but if I have had a very heavy session, I will usually allow my penis to return naturally to body temperature, then ice it.

The other main theory on using cold is that the heat and exercise will have created a ‘sol’ state in the elastin of the collagen matrix, and that by cooling the penis after PE, these tissues become in a ‘gel’ state. If you search, using advanced search, there has been quite a bit of discussion on use of cold v. heat; a good excuse to learn how the search function works!

The Jelq: Jelqing is about creating a pressure wave of blood in front of the jelqing hand. It takes a while to master, and everyone finds what best works for them. If you dry jelq, using the movement of the foreskin is useful. If you wet jelq, just experiment to see what gives the best feel of expansion happening in front of your hand.

Kegels can be done from fully flaccid to fully erect. For your actual kegel session, I would suggest flaccid, but you will find many reasons to use them erect during your PE sessions. Do plenty of reading here and you will see guys mention their use in many exercises.

There is some pretty technical stuff here to get your brain around thanks.

I’m doing the wet jelqing as recommended, and have notice then when I apply to OK grip at the base, there’s immediately a volume of blood is ready to move forward. Particularly as I get ready to swap hands.

It seems that many kegel outside the PE routine then and through the day too, I will try that, I just took the newbie routine as that, and did it in that order.

Have to admit I wasn’t sure about the cold wrap, but I’m not there yet.

Cold wrap? I prefer heat, but that’s probably because I’m not man enough to put ice near my dick!

Don’t ignore the warmups and cooldowns. They are important to prevent injury, blisters, and overtraining.

Best to measure at minimum 24 hours after your last session. 2 days are better, it gives your dick some time to rest and any temporary gains to go.

Kegels can be done with and without an erection. Do it with which ever you prefer.

How warm, is the warm wrap need to be? And am I right in thinking this is just around the penis and not the scrotum?

The warm wrap for warming up can be as warm as you like, as long as you are not cooking your penis! If it’s too hot, you will not be able to heat your penis all the way through without it becoming painful to keep on. So it needs to be cool enough to keep on for at least 3 or 4 minutes at first application, without any discomfort.

The wrap just goes around the penis and over the pubis, as you want to heat the areas where the ligaments attach to the body, as well as the penis. Try to avoid overheating the testicles.

The wrap for warming down after can be quite a bit cooler than for warming up. It’s more about making the tissues relax than heating them; if it’s too hot, the penis can turtle to try to reduce it’s surface area for protection. This is not an issue if you are about to stretch your penis, but if you want it to relax, you need it to feel ‘comforted’ rather than heated.
