How to Measure Your Penis

How far above the penis is the pubic bone exactly? Directly above my penis there’s soft tissue and I can hardly press the ruler in without it hurting but if I place the ruler just a tad bit higher I’m able to push through everything without any pain.

The most important thing is to measure the same way from the same place every time. If you want to measure from a point directly above your penis just a tad, that’s fine, but do it that way every time to ensure accuracy and consistent measurements.

Correctly measuring size with regards to angle

So I’m interested in seeing how big or small I am statistically, but my erection angle is very steep, it is almost parallel to my body when I am fully erect. My question is, should I measure it at this angle (this is quite difficult/awkward) or should I pull it down so it is perpendicular to my body (somewhat uncomfortable)? I ask because the former yields a significantly smaller measurement (almost an inch) than when I measure it perpendicular to my body. Also note that I am not interested in bone pressed length, only non-bone pressed (I am very lean and have very little fat). Ultimately I want to know what is the best representation or measurement of my actual insertable penis length and what would be the best measurement to give if I told someone else. Would it be with my non-bone pressed erect penis perpendicular to my body or at the angle it’s normally at? Which would she actually ‘feel’ during sex? I know this will vary slightly based on the position. Also, as for girth, should I take an average of the top, middle and bottom or just at the middle? Because my girth varies from the base to just beneath the glans by over half an inch.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: when they did the erect penis size studies, would they have pulled my erection so that it is perpendicular to my body or just at the angle it naturally has because remember, I want to see how I statistically measure up.

Stif, welcome to Thunders.

Almost all, if not all, of your questions are answered in the very first post of this thread. Please re read it. To summarize, the medical standard practice is to measure bone pressed with dick perpendicular to your body. If this is difficult, then the next best answer is to be consistent in whichever method you use. Whichever girth you choose to measure just be sure to correctly identify it: MEG= mid erect girth; BEG= base erect girth, etc.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

I know I read it and it said place it perpendicular to the body but the studies don’t mention this and it seems like an important aspect so why wouldn’t they describe this aspect of their method if they used it. I just want to be absolutely sure that this was the method used in studies because as stated there is a large discrepancy between my perpendicular length and natural angle length and I want to see how I truly measure up.

I have noticed in a lot of progress threads people BP from under the pubic bone? This isn’t the correct way to measure right? You need to flip the ruler 90 deg that way it runs vertical with your body so you actually are pressing on the most protruded part of the pubic bone? Or is it acceptable to measure from underneath the bump on the bone?

1/20/19 7.2-7.5 BPEL x 5 MSEG

Short term goal 8 BPEL x 5.5 MSEG

The most accurate method is flat to the pubic bone, not under it. Generally holding the ruler vertical, not flat, is the best way to achieve that method. Some people cannot hold it that way for a number of reasons, so then find a method which works for them. One member measures from the side due to some lig issues and he has acknowledged it isn’t the most accurate way to measure.

The key is consistency. Whichever method and tools you use, continue to do so. If you are constantly changing how you measure and using different rulers, you are introducing uncertainty into the process. Did I really gain 1/2” or is it due to using a different ruler or measuring differently?

I’ll interject here that this is the same rational for why we measure BPEL and not NBPEL so you have confidence that your gains are true gains and not from loss of fat pad.

We post pictures as a record for ourselves, not for proving to others, so whether someone is measuring under the pubic bone or not is not something to be concerned about. Yep I know that some guys post pics to brag, but that is a small group.

I presume that when you say “Vertical” measurement, you are mean while lying flat on your back?

No i just meant the ruler vertical. basically the second picture showing how to measure.

Vertical to your dick, not horizontal (flat).

Guys sometimes make measuring sound difficult. I don’t understand why a straight ruler is so difficult to understand. Not being rude. I just found the need for concrete accuracy for NBP and BPEL measurements to be a little overthinking and overanalytical.

Maybe I am not understanding something. Especially when it comes to total insertable length, a lot of guys may not be like me. My testicles go inside me when I am aroused, which means I can literally use my entire penis when fucking. Again, I have a large fat pad if I measured NBP I would literally lose 2.5” from my total penile length.

You should always measure BPEL for complete accuracy. If you don’t you will not see the entire picture, kinda like how I used to feel growing up. Again I am not belittling anyones worries about measuring correctly. All I am saying is some guys think way too much when it comes to this.

Regardless if you are very toned or not if you put your junk in and fuck you’ll be using your BPEL eventually. You guys honestly think when I fuck I just put my dick in where my pad starts? There’s still 2” hidden underneath making up a total of almost 7”. Unless you have very large nuts I am sure you will be getting your entire length used. If this makes any sense at all.

5.3" NBPEL.

BPEL 6.5-6.7" Goal: Anything!

Girth: 5" but getting bigger. ;)

I read somewhere that flaccid should be measured NON-bone-pressed. I don’t get why, it just makes the measurement even more vague.
I’d like to know which is used on calcSD ( ). They don’t appear to mention anything else but bone-pressed for measuring.
(Which would make me way over the top, I’m happy to say!)

Thankful For This Forum

Just a note to say thank you to the moderators and senior members on this forum. I am struggling to get gains and all the advice, instruction and encouragement is greatly appreciated. I’ll be entering my beginning measurements after my 2 day rest. I have a long way to go to reach my goal, but I am committed to the journey! Bigger is better, I want to get BIG!

BPFSL is an important measurment as flaccid growth is often a precurser to gains in erect length. Non bone pressed flaccid length is used to understand what your flaccid hang is.

To add to that, BPFSL is as far as you can go (for now). So, if you happen to take any measurements that exceed that, you’re probably measuring wrong. A minor exception might be that a swollen head on an erect penis does add some length.
