Ideal warm up temperature - a myth?

Hello,

Yesterday, I made other measures. I found a little more than the first time:
-30.4 ° C before
-40.6 ° C under hot shower
-38.3 ° C under IR
The difference may be due to a higher room temperature …

I did the following test :
I did a warm up under hot water, then I had an exposure to IR. In this case, the temperature stabilizes at 39.5 ° C. I deduced that IR heat some slower and, probably, a longer exposure would achieve nearly the same temperature.

I’ll do another test :
I usually do a cooldown at the end of my routine with cold water shower. I would like to know if using ice may have an interest. Indeed, the interest of cooldown is to decrease temperature below the deformation threshold. It is not obvious that very cold water is necessary for this result.

(even if I do not have a lot of gains, I should make some progress in English ;) )

What about a hot bath?

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

This, or at least a cup of hot water.

The shower temperature was around 45 ° C when I did the test .. I’m not sure I can bear a bath so hot. And it’s not good for my heart (which has to increase cardiac output to reduce the rising temperatures).

Great work Graal, very insightful and my condolences for having to shove something down your urethra :)

I would be interested to see the temperature difference if you for instance: heated with an IR lamp with a white cloth under your unit, or perhaps heated with two IR lamps from both sides.

I didn’t explain my previous position but, since when heating with IR (using a single bulb) your member will always have a “cold side” this could be acting as a heat sink and drawing the temperature by way of heat conduction (diffusion) away from the point you’re taking your reading from.

I’ve read in a Study(I believe it was Korean) that hot baths and showers that raise your testicle temperature cause your testosterone levels to crash. Especially if you are over 40 or so. Its established that heat can make you infertile due to interfering with sperm but lowering testosterone is more scary. I would just keep this in mind if you are considering hot baths and showers. I’m trying to do everything I can to keep testosterone levels at a decent level as I get older.

Howardson and Graal - you are both doing some nice work here. Sounds like it’s really well done - and I’ve got super high scientific standards! This thread could really be an important one for a lot of us to keep an eye on and for everyone to read in the future.

I'm a disciple of science.

A newbie question about the IR (which I use for heating):

Doesn´t IR light scatter too much ? What if it could be more "directed" or "concentrated" ? Would that help with the heating ?

It would work a bit like this device (medi-konzept.de - This website is for sale! - medi konzept Resources and Information.) that I posted about a while ago, but using IR. Or, the idea of heating a specific section of the shaft by using something like a ring shaped IR lamp that could be used for some minutes before the normal warm-up procedure is making me think that I might be on to something.

Nah, I haven’t got anyone watching either. ;)

And yes, your picture threads is what impressed me. :)

Then it doesn’t matter if it looks stupid.

OK I see.

This is a test that I could do. I found in an hard discount complete IR lamps for less price (12, 99 Euro) than the bulb replacement alone (32 euros). So I had bought 2 to have a replacement bulb.

But I think I’ll have to buy another thermometer because I cleaned mine in the shower … and apparently it was not waterproof :) .

Longirth8,

I had a look on the site of medi-konzept. In my opinion, no interest. But I could be wrong.

There are many pseudoscientific* words that does not mean anything. I will not go into details because it would take hours for me to translate in English.

* I’m not sure this word exists in English !

I’d be interested in seeing this test done Graal, additionally, maybe also frequent measuring of temperature with different methods, to see when “peak” temperature is reached. We might be warming up for 5 minutes when we only need to warm up for 2 :)

I did several tests in recent days to estimate the interest of cooldown.

The first time I used cold water (11 ° C) for 5 min. The temperature had lowered below 34 ° C (I can’t remember the exact value).
The second time I did the same thing for 4 min, the third time 3 min …

The temperature drops very quickly and in 2 or 3 minutes it returned to its normal value. The use of ice, in my opinion, would have no interest. It would accelerate the process. But it must be very unpleasant for a few seconds gained.

I noticed that the warm up under hot water is much faster than under IR. But it takes more than 5 minutes to reach the maximum. However, the urethra is not deep under the skin.

I’m thinking that I did not measure exactly the temperature of water I can bear.

What’s the benefit of cool down with cold water? Doesn’t it shrink the penis? I think it is better to maintain the penis warm even after the session to increase growth potential.am I wrong?
