Is my routine too heavy

Is my routine too heavy

I started PE 1/28/08 but I’ve been REALLY inconsistent throughout this time period because I’ve been real busy.. Anyway I’ve started to get back into it and my routine looks like this:

5 min warm up
10 min stretching
10 min jelqing
10 min stretching
5 min warm down
Kegels

Cooldown with ice (Should I be doing this?? I read it in a thread and supposedly icing was effective so I started doing it)

So I know my PE exercise looks basically like the Newbie Routine but from what I’ve read stretching is what gets you a lot of the initial gains so I increased the duration of my stretches and also added in the 10 minutes of stretching after the jelqs.. Is that too much stretching or is that fine? Also, I’ve always heard about people taking breaks after a long period of PE’ing, how often should I take a break? And once I reach my goal, if I completely stop PE will I lose all of my gains?

Oh, and in terms of stretching, the stretches I do are up, down, left, right, rotate, straight out, and the BTC stretch.. Besides the BTC stretch I do each of those stretches 30 seconds each and the BTC stretch for about 2 minutes. Are these good, or do any of you have any better suggestions?

1/28/08: BPEL- 5.9 // NBPEL - 5.5 // Girth- 5.2

Current: BPEL- 6.5 // NBPEL - 6.0 // Girth

Goal: BPEL- 7.5 // NBPEL -7.0 // Girth- 5.75

That doesn’t look like a bad routine, although I think it’s a bit heavy on the stretching if you’re still early on in the process.

I think the time to take a break is when your gains cease and your only way of increasing your routine is by going to unreasonable force levels or time, or introducing exercises that you are uncomfortable with.

Let us know how the icing works for you. Opinions are mixed on icing.

If you completely stop PE for a deconditioning break, you may lose a little of your gains, but some have actually reported gaining while they were doing nothing/deconditioning, or if they did lose a little, regaining it all and a bit more on restarting.

If you completely stop for longer than a break, some report holding steady, some report losses. A maintenance routine helps you keep your gains.

I would suggest cutting out the second set of stretches for now. A better approach would be to start slower and monitor your PI’s for negative symptoms. If they don’t appear then increase the stretching time incrementally. From my experience, I increased a little too quickly and caused myself a bit of soreness. Of course, my experience may not match what you will experience which is why getting a feel for your individual PI’s is important.

I would cut down some of those times and see how you feel. You don’t want to overtrain and I am learning that the hard way.

In my honest opinion, less is always more.

Now: BPEL - 8.58" (21.8 cm), NBPEL - 7.44" (18.9 cm), MSEG - 5.1875" (13.18 cm)

Short Term Goal: NBPEL- 8" (20.3 cm), MSEG - 5.5" (14 cm)

Long Term Goal: NBPEL- 8"+ (20.3 cm+), MSEG - 6.0" (15.24 cm)

Thanks a lot, so I’ll cut out the 2nd set of stretches now but 10 minutes for the 1st set is enough? Also, what are some good maintenance routines that are effective in keeping the size?

Also, is it better to jelq in terms of time (10 minutes) or number of jelqs?? If it is the latter, what’s a good amount of jelqs for a relatively new PE’er?

I seem to have a high affinity to stretching. It is a real issue to resist the urge to increase the time I spend stretching. I think that I will do so in another month when I am approaching the 3 month mark if I see no gains.

Is it better to split the stretching into 2 sessions like this or keep them altogether, or as with almost most things, it is a case of what suits you and allows gains and minimises (preferably to zero) any negative physiological indicators? What lead you to splitting the stretching routine like this? I am just interested as stretching before jelqing seems better for me, but adding a part of the routine may stop the PE session ending in a masturbation routine for me, which is something I want to remove as I think the masturbation is too much load on my penis immediately post PE.
