Newbie Routine Question

Newbie Routine Question

I started doing PE before I can across this site, so I did not start with the Newbie Routine. I started with a traction device that I’ve been using for several months now with little gain in the beginning and nothing since. After being directed to the Newbie Routine, I felt like I didn’t need it, because I am not a newbie. But, I’ve decided that I’ve pushed my traction device use to its limits and am still not seeing gains, so it’s time to rethink what I’m doing. I am going to stop using the traction device and focus my time on the Newbie Routine. My question is this: it says to build up to 10 min of stretching and 30 min of jelqing over a 6 week period. But how long should the routine be done before you start adding additional stretches/devices into the mix? When you stop seeing gains? If you don’t see any gains at all? Or is there a recommended time to give the routine before adding to it? I didn’t see an answer for that, but I certainly could have overlooked it. Thank you for any input or advice.

Hi Tmweb13!

I’m 4 months in and have basically only utilized the newbie routine. I’ve tried some bundled stretches, fulcrum stretches and some manual clamping, but it’s mainly been the newbie routine that has lead to my gains. I also use constant heat when stretching and I am about to pull the trigger on an IR heat lamp to add so I can jelq with heat as well. Heat has been discussed on many threads and seems to be the X factor for many people. Gains have been good over the past 4 months. I have no plans to use any devices in the first year of at all. Gains are posted in my signature. Hope that helps?

It does, thank you. I had seen several threads where people had mentioned using heat, so I had added that into my routine. I was using the traction device and would wrap everything with a heating pad (it’s designed for your back so I can engulf everything in it) and set it on the highest setting for as long as I could stand and then would drop it to the medium setting. I’ve still been seeing gains with my stretched length and flaccid length, but my erect length hasn’t really budged in quite some time. I’m hoping the jelqing will help with that since I can easily stretch over 7” now even without using the traction device, but it’s just not equating to anything else. I think I will do as you mentioned and just continue doing the jelqing/stretching until I stop seeing gains. If I’m still not seeing gains after a few months jelqing, I’m not sure what I’ll do next. But I’ve invested so much time already, I’d hate to throw in the towel just yet.

I see that we started with very similar stats. I would give the newbie routine a try. It’s is recommended by every forum moderator here and after going 4 months, I am still seeing gains. I rarely jelq for a full 30min. Usually 20-25min max. Stretching has been up to 20 min but I saw better gains between 10-15min, so I’ve backed off a little. This month has been the hardest to stay consistent so not expected to gain much but getting a few workouts in every week to maintain. Life has a way of giving you breaks and I usually am 2-3 days on and then a rest day. Even if I don’t jelq, I manage to get 10min or more of stretching in before calling it a night. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

Tmweb, what were your routine with the extender ? What force of traction did you use, for how long, how many sessions per day ? I am an experienced extender, and I started the same way as you, and I’ve had good gains over a period of more than two years and more than 2400 hours in the extender, on average 4 hours per day - with some rest days in between.

I am using the Restore X. I chose it because they had studies showing it worked only using it for two 30 minutes sessions per day. I am unable to wear one for 4+ hours everyday, so I felt like it was the best option for me. I started using it in October of 2020. I followed the two times per day, 30 minutes per session recommendation for quite a while but started seeing virtually no gains shortly after the first 30 days. I then started adding time to each session, and even added in a third session when I could. I also added a heat wrap to the majority of the sessions (I always use the heat when I am able to). I keep track of my sessions and days. So far, I’ve done it 141 days (does not include days I have had to skip- usually just a day here and there, never more than once a week) totally around 161 hours. The traction force is built into the extender. It is spring loaded and applies a consistent, even pull throughout the session. I do not know the actual amount of force it applies though.

I have not used a Restore X, but since it is spring loaded, I guess it works in the same way as other extenders. Try to go for a traction that are fairly comfortable and you feel a nice tug. Time; 2 or 3 - 30 minutes sessions per day isn’t much, but that’s the time you’ve got. I don’t mean to put you off, that is not my intension. Stay consistent and keep it up, and put in longer sessions when you are able to.

About Restore X. I thought that it was a device that guys that are circumsized used to restore their foreskin ? I don’t know, maybe I missunderstand, and that that extender is working the same way as other extenders.

It was originally designed as a medical device to help correct Peyronie’s Disease. There were clinical trials done that then found that it also increases length. There were several studies done with different amounts of time wearing the device and, according to the studies, there was no evidence that wearing the device longer than the two, 30 minute sessions made a difference on the affect of the device. These were only 90 day studies though. I’m assuming that it is only recommended to be worn for 30 minutes at a time because of the clamping device used to hold the head to extend. I’ve worn it up to 65 minutes at one time, and the tip or the penis is a pretty dark purple after that length of time. They claim that they believe the time wearing it doesn’t need to be done for hours because of the way the device applies it’s extending pressure. I have no experience with others, but they say that after a short time, your penis starts to stretch and you lose the extending pressure from the other devices. Since this one is spring loaded, it keeps the same pressure throughout the entire session. It has a little white ring on the rods that indicates when you’ve extended beyond the desired spring pressure and you need to move to the next length rod. I have applied additional pressure with my hands on the device beyond the spring pressure, but the spring pressure seems to apply a pretty good amount of force on its own.

I definitely have no intentions of giving up at this point. I’m just looking for other things to try. I’ve read several threads where people have done one thing and then switched to something else and started seeing results pretty quick. I’m hoping that the Restore X has just stretched what it can stretch but maybe isn’t stretching something else that is holding me back and that switching up my routine may hit those areas that the traction device is not. I shall see I suppose.
