Starting Again. Need Advice.

I’m glad to be back here.
A quick history is that I began PEing in January of this year after about two brief attempts about 3 years ago. Never more than 2 weeks really. Originally, in Janaury, I started off with Big Al at male enhancement coach and while I loved his advice and methods, I wasn’t quite ready for his exercises he wanted me to advance into. By about the 3rd week, he had me already doing tension stretches/side to side stretches and squeezes with no jelqing. As a result, I got injured. The blame is on me though and not listening to my body. I tried too much too soon. I was in a bad place with the girlfriend and I began worrying about my size (6.15 to 6.25 BPEL/4.75 MEG) even though that should of never been a cause for concern.
I was injured about a month or so in, and I put it aside after that. My penis naturally has an upwards curve and tight ligaments as my erection angle is pretty high. As a result, the bottom left side of my penis by the base became very sore with an erection, as if I pushed down with an erection, I saw stars. It also hurt flaccid if I stretched. I got checked out my two urologist, both specialist. One said he didn’t see anything wrong other than a possible thrombosed vein. The other said he didn’t see a thrombosed vein and nothing wrong. He said due to the pain he was only guessing it may be a suspensory ligament injury and to rest.
So while I did rest, I didn’t follow doctors orders to a tee. I would rest for maybe 4-5 days at a time and then I would have sex or masturbait. Still had pain but it was drastically reduced. Now, fast forward to present day and now single, with masturbation, I have no pain. With stretching briefly to asses discomfort, I have no pain. I’m quite confident in saying the pain is gone and the injury is healed.
I truthfully believe the reason I got injured and saw no gains was because I tried too much way too fast and also I did not jelq.
I want to start the newbie routine and I was wondering if anyone here would recommend me starting off with the linear routine instead. I’m in this for the long run. My EQ sucks, no morning wood, and I’m 21. Yeah, it could be due to my SSRI medication use and psychological state after my break up, but I’m feeling better and I know I can increase my size AND EQ.
My realistic goals, and I think they’re very realistic and put me in the “large”/no problems ever category is 7 BPEL and 5.25 MEG. Anything more is great but I would stop at 7.5 BPEL and 5.5 MEG.
